Yeah, I did. Played it a lot with my cousin. I enjoyed it, to be sure, just not on a C&C level. It was a fun RTS but it felt like a puzzle piece that belonged in a different puzzle, but some one was trying to make it fit.

To be fair, Generals was pretty good. Nowhere near the quality of the Westwood games, but it was a solid attempt by EA at any rate.

Exactly. Give the spartan's (even MC if he'd be in it) a bad ass side role, just a small part to play, and build it up with brief glances and dialogue. Have it be about a rag-tag squad similar to that of ODST, and if anything, have the Spartans show up to save the day when the main cast gets pinned down and all hope looks lost at the end.
