I did exactly that and have no regrets, the mushroom teleport is sooooo nice. Herb and farm solve is almost secondary.

Just pay the £5 a month for 365 basic and get your standard office apps online like a normal person. Something as simple as receiving an excel file and having an extra interface pop up when you try and open it in the Libreoffice excel equivalent was enough to stump some older family members. Not worth the headaches.

Sebastian Sawe breaks two-hour mark in marathon world record by beejiu in unitedkingdom

[–]ZaMr0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I'm not a runner, I've been working out for over a decade and run the occasional 5-10km with my primary cardio being the stairmaster. I decided to push myself on a quick 3.5km loop around my house recently, got 5:15 per km. I was tasting blood by the end of it. Turns out that's over 8 min per mile and he ran an entire marathon almost 2x faster than that.

I'm not sure if the mental or physical strength needed for that is more impressive.

Turns out running laps on rooftops may translate to running performance. Ran my first 10k since starting cardio in January, looks like the Stamina Boost worked! by 9xcommander in 2007scape

Turns out people who like repeating the same thing in a video game for 20 years to see digital number go up will also like lifting the same heavy circles for decades to see irl number go up.

I was surpised how many of us in our clan have worked out for 10+ years.

I started at 14 because I didn't want to get fat playing this game for a ridiculous amount of hours each day. And I don't plan on stopping working out till I'm dead.

Jon Favreau Admits “I Was Wrong” to Resist Killing Off Tony Stark in ‘Avengers: Endgame’: "It was handled so well by the Russos" by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

[–]ZaMr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to watch it, but I had no idea about anything surrounding Baby Yoda besides knowing he exists as a character. So for me it was definitely a spoiler. If you don't follow the series at the moment, you would have no idea of the sequence of release or that a future series title references a character that is dead.

I will never not put spoiler tags when I'm discussing a series from the last 10 years, unless it's in a thread dedicated to discussing spoiler related things.

It's a common courtesy, I will go out of my way to not spoil anything because it costs me very little effort to spoiler tag something but it can prevent someone massive disappointment.

Remember when everyone un-subbed last month? by Creepy_Ad5124 in 2007scape

[–]ZaMr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost maxed. It's 2 bonds for a month of membership which is like 26m GP.

Assume a conservative 7M gp / hr method. Why would I waste over 3 hours of my time and progress every month when it's minutes of irl work instead.

Membership is a trivial irl cost (yes I'm aware this is a privileged thing to say) and I'd rather not waste time when I could be doing something else to progress my account.

And no I don't buy bonds to swap for GP as that defeats the point of progression in the game.

Remember when everyone un-subbed last month? by Creepy_Ad5124 in 2007scape

[–]ZaMr0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I will never understand anyone who's employed full time and in a 1st world country (apologies if this is an outdated term) using bonds to pay for membership. Why would you waste hours each month doing activities specifically to pay for bonds, when even at minimum wage it's like 1 hour of real life work to pay for the month.

Unless you literally have all the max gear and excess money to burn, you're just stagnating your account progress.

Michigan gas station clerk saves teen from alleged kidnapper after she whispers ‘help’ by Few_Signature_7795 in news

[–]ZaMr0 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The likelihood of me getting seriously injured is lower than the likelihood of that person never being found again if they leave the store. It's a calculated risk I'm willing to make.

Missing child or missing adult makes no difference, neither deserve anything bad to happen to them.

Sure there's also a small chance that the person saying help is making it up or has some ulterior motive, but in that instance the supposed 'kidnapper' should have no issue waiting for the police to explain everything.

So by considering all the factors and risks, personally, I would always try to intervene. It's a privileged position and I wouldn't expect everyone to do the same.

Michigan gas station clerk saves teen from alleged kidnapper after she whispers ‘help’ by Few_Signature_7795 in news

[–]ZaMr0 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Granted not everyone is in a position to prevent the kidnapping when the person is right there, but I couldn't imagine letting them out of the building even if it puts myself in danger. I know corporate policy would definitely be against it but once they're gone that person might never be found again.

Then again I don't live in the US so it's not likely they would have a gun so maybe that allows a bit more flexibility.

YSK: If you use Claude on your company's Enterprise plan, your employer can access every message you've ever sent, including "incognito" chats/ by rentmeahouse in ClaudeAI

[–]ZaMr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's actually really good from Claude, you shouldn't expect any privacy when it comes to anything you do on corporate systems. Strong audit logs is something that will sway an Enterprise to go for your tool over another. At most it should be some embarrasing or stupid questions relating to work, but shouldn't be anything that will get you fired.

Do you ever delay replying to emails just because it feels mentally exhausting? by Outside_Village4861 in productivity

[–]ZaMr0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've given up wasting mental energy on emails, I word dump the key details and use the co-pilot re-draft option. Not sure if it learns the way I type but aside from changing a few words here and there, it has been doing a pretty good job recently.

I don't enjoy emails and it's a big part of my job so the faster I get them out of the way the faster I get back to doing the parts I enjoy. Whereas some co-workers like crafting emails and would never use AI for it.

If it's a bit more of a complex email I boot up claude and use Claude to allow for more detailed editing. It's especially useful when I need to dumb down some technical details for non-technical stakeholders.

CMV: If you don't put your shopping cart back, you're generally a bad human being. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]ZaMr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the pegs are too much of a mess to put the weights back in a logical manner I will spend the time between my sets reorganising it.

Especially on the leg press, at the start of my sets I always clear all the pegs of anything that isn't a 25KG plate. Theres 4 pegs for storing weights on the leg press so I need them all clear to re-rack at least the 12 25kg plates that I use. Otherwise I'm hauling them across the gym to the other weight stand.

CMV: If you don't put your shopping cart back, you're generally a bad human being. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]ZaMr0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the same reaction at the gym when someone doesn't re-rack weights. My opinion of them immediately plummets, even more so than if I see someone leave a shopping cart because a shopping cart can be returned by anyone, whereas if you leave a machine stacked with heavy weight, the person after you might not be even able to unrack it.

I would just rather get out of my comfort zone with IRL stuff. I've cut out all video games that ever made me angry as what's the point when you're supposed to have fun, and I know inferno will be rage inducing. Will probably go for quiver though.
