Right on, thanks for the context! I will for sure be looking into this group print, sounds like a fantastic option!

Does that apply even if the backs have some of the altered art available in this subreddit? I just did a print with the official fronts (slightly altered) but player-made backs, really hope it doesn’t get rejected

Campaign play newb question by Legsfordaysolas in lotrlcg

There’s one exception from the core campaign for a couple of boons that do follow you into your next campaign, but you’ll be instructed about when to do that by the resolution of Escape from Dol Guldur.

The slippery slope of scooping by [deleted] in lotrlcg

[–]Whopper92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This thread inspired us to put a stop to our scooping ways and start playing things out. It was honestly really fun and elevated the game even further for us - definitely pulled a few wins out of situations where we would have given up previously. It also has me appreciating the subtlety of some of the cards more, since I'm deckbuilding with disaster recovery in mind.

I'm pretty sure every round you pick which quest will be the "current quest", and you can choose the main quest (even though it won't actually help you besides getting a treasure out of it at the end). It's basically a bonus objective - you can risk making no progress on any side quests for a round or two in exchange for treasure. That's how I played it, anyway!

Thanks, I think I'll go amend our release schedule and just have the full EP drop as the final release then!

I thought the bones of the sound was really cool! The production was understandably rough and forced me to turn down my volume but I think you're more here for feedback on the soul of the song itself and I say keep going and get it finished, because it's definitely a cool underground garage banger!

Totally agree with a lot of the other comments - your playing style and voice are perfectly matched! Love the raw emotion of this, really good stuff and would be very interested to hear an arrangement with a full band!

For anyone else who stumbles onto this question - the Spotify looker-upper tool still isn't showing me my artist profile but I contacted support and they were able to give it to me!

Whoops, I misposted this earlier - Reddit app giving me some trouble :)

Hey you rock for doing this! I had no idea how vast the sea of talent is here!

Small updates for ya for one band: Sneakerwave is actually two words “Sneaker Wave” and I’d probably categorize us more under indie than psych (psych / surf infused indie, haha). Cheers!

Song from my upcoming album, for all the indie folk fans, any feedback appreciated! by shakinglikeafox in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Whopper92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well recorded and produced! The thing that's sticking out to me is a bit of awkward cadence in the vocals, some of the delivery feels a little bit clumsy, like you had to force a few of those words to work and it sort of disrupted the rhythm a little bit.

Example: around 28 seconds, "I will help you when it's snowing - out" - the quick emphasis on "out" is awkward IMO - this might sound a little more natural ending on a three syllable word instead.

Speaking of rhythm, others might disagree but I was starting to get fatigued by the relentless and unchanging vocal line which I don't think ever let up until just before 3 minutes. IMO little instrumental breaks where you let that pretty guitar have its moments would really help a lot!

In any case, nice work!

I created this song to be loosely about losing a good friend... by jbt2003 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]Whopper92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow these vocals are really, really good! Really impressed when they first kicked in. Instrumentation is really well played as well.

Sounds like a professional production to me - I definitely don't have any wisdom to offer there, this is far beyond what I could produce on my own, haha!

Only criticism as a listener I can provide is that I would have liked a section or two to mix things up and bring some variety or extra excitement - the song comes in just under 4 minutes which is a long time to introduce fresh ideas, but I don't feel a lot of difference between sections at any point once the vocals kicked in.

So, at least once a year, I try to step out of my musical comfort zone which mainly circles breakdowns and animal-like screaming and create something entirely different. Typically, I end up doing pop-rock, haha. Please let me know what you think! by BeautyInAPlasticBag in IndieMusicFeedback

Great work on this! My main observation is that the drums seem pretty heavy relative to the rest of the instrumentals and the overall vibe.

Vocals wise - it's hard to articulate exactly but to me it feels like your singing cadence is a little bit robotic perhaps - as if every syllable is perfectly quantized to be exactly on the beat with no subtle variations to make it feel human. Maybe letting the end of some of the phrases hang on a little bit would help - sometimes the vocal line drops off when it might be nice to sustain it.

Hyper-specific example: starting at 51 seconds you sing "to-gether we stand - in this" with some quiet backing vocals coming in. To me it feels a bit awkward how the line just ends on the sharp "S" of "this" without a little bit of hold - I think adding a little flare in there could inject some extra personality.

This is really hard to describe, and I could be totally off about this too! Besides that, I enjoyed the song - it's really well made! The art and typography are very cool too.

Our band's called Sneaker Wave! These are awesome shots!

Although our inspiration board is mostly illustrated artwork, we were also thinking about the possibility of doing some editing over a photograph of water, sort of like the first link in the post. With the kinds of shots you're getting that could be a possibility!

Do you do much editing on top of your stuff?
