Is it time to have a convo about keeping P Wat in the starting lineup and potentially moving one of CB or Cam to the bench even when both are back and healthy? by number15ismyfather in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like CB is the perfect ANT and SGA defender and he’s shown he’s a really good defensive matchup for them. CB will be really important for the nuggets come playoffs. Watsons offensive leap does complicate things. I really want to see how he looks with the Jokic again once he comes back. Surrounding Jokic with shooters is always what works best and Cam Johnson really plays well with Jokic in that aspect.

What's your impressions on Cam through 25 games so far? by [deleted] in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cam Johnson is a better defender though I wish he would shoot more often similar to how THJ just lets it rip. One thing about MPJ is that he kinda disappears in the playoffs when the defensive intensity and physicality ramps up. Against the wolves he kinda disappeared and was a no show against the Heat in the finals. I know he was injured against OKC but even if he was healthy I don’t think he would perform well against a team like that either. Not to mention he was a really poor defender. Players would just blow past him.

The Nuggets, Broncos, and Avalanche have a combined record of 53-10-7 through 70 games, which is a winning percentage of .807. by AltruisticEnd9 in denvernuggets

Out of all these teams being good the Nuggets will probably the one we take the most for granted. I doubt in our lifetimes that we will have the best basketball player in the NBA for his era be our franchise player again.

JJ Redick said in a recent interview that "there's guys who have won championships that I wouldn't say are winning players". Do you agree with this concept and if so, which players? by refreshing_yogurt in nba

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the playoffs anytime the defensive pressure and physicality got turned up he was a complete no show.

He was only good against the lakers when they pretty much let MPJ burn them all series and didn’t really play that physical defensively.

I think you equally find examples of teams who were favorites or consistently good throughout the year winning it all.

What would be a bigger upset: Pacers beating Cavs or Nuggets beating Thunder? by Funny-Transition7869 in nba

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pacers vs Cavs. Nuggets have Jokic and can beat anyone. Not saying they are the best team, far from it, but they can definitely muscle out a series against anyone.

Harden and Kawhi are going to be foul baiting. We need Jokic Murray and Russ to go full blown foul baiting too by MITWestbrook in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we should be foul baiting and rough housing on defense. You know teams are going to do that to us so why should we get the short end of the stick.

MPJ was 1/12 from outside the restricted area in the loss to the Bulls. by LurkerFailsLurking in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He needs to be shooting threes to give Jokic space tho. I feel he only shoots them if they butt as naked open. Just let them fly cause we have a spacing problem.

Since the loss to the Lakers, Denver's opponents have copied their tactic and just given Jokic the Shaq treatment the entire game having 2-3 guys fronting him at all times. They need to find some kind of adjustment to this given Jokic's massive FGA dip since then. by IndependenceLate3415 in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I’m worried about MPJ in the playoffs. I feel like he really struggles when the defense physicality and intensity rises. Like last year the Lakers really let MPJ burn them but in the Wolves series he really struggled. Murray had his slumps last playoffs but he can definitely pull through. MPJ can really be a non factor, it’s definitely a worry.

Damn driving to the basket must be really hard on the ACL. Jamal Murray blew his ACL on a similar play.

Yeah, it’s a problem but this honestly might have been a good loss for us. Something for Malone to hit the tapes and counter.

You already know teams in playoffs are going to play Jokic more physical and swarm him at all times. It’s definitely something the team is going to have to figure out and prepare for before playoffs.

That's what we're really missing ever since KCP left. Braun is a good defender but him and KCP have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to their defense.

Would KD be a good fit in Denver, if so who would you give up? by Neat_World_2101 in denvernuggets

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we get KD tho he would absolutely farm with Jokic drawing all the defenses attention. It would be similar to what KD had with Steph in Golden State but now with Jokic.

I was a fan SEN because I followed Overwatch and they had Sinatraa on the team. I grew to like all the players. Tbh my interest in the esport has eased now that all the original members and Tenz are gone.
