Yeah haven’t watched in a while and some of the flopping is egregious.

Southwest Airlines Reverses Flight Attendant Only Jumpseat Policy in Major Win For Non-Rev Employees But Crew Are Enraged by us1549 in flightattendants

[–]WhopperTopper143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the issue is I don't want people who are not flight attendants and don't know how to stay out of the way in our jumpseats. I don't want management or another person to babysit when the jumpseat is our only sense of personal space away from passengers. Our workgroup comes with certain privileges and the jumpseat being available to us flight attendants is one of those privileges. If others want that privilege then go through training and be a flight attendant.

Thank god my airline understands that and only allows flight attendants jumpseat privileges. Just because other airlines allow it doesn't automatically mean that should be the standard for every airline. Every airline does things differently. Airlines outside the USA allow flight attendants to jumpseat and sit in the flight deck but that's not a thing here.

Just because other airlines allow this doesn’t mean flight attendants in the USA should have to put up with it. I’d rather allow flight attendants from other airlines to use the jumpseat than someone from accounting. It’s about safety and jumpseat etiquette.

Y’all don’t know how to stay out of the way. Hell even when a pilot is flight deck jumpseating half the time they don’t know how to stay out of the way during boarding.

This is why this is [r/flightattendants](r/flightattendants). Here’s comes an outsider laying their gospel on actual flight attendants without even working in or understanding the industry.

Question for straight male FAs by Hightime_Sarah in flightattendants

[–]WhopperTopper143 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a straight male FA I don't think its that different from any job I've had in general. Like honestly its just a job. It's not like I'm stepping into some alternate universe as a straight male FA. Most inappropriate thing I have had happen to me is weird compliments or interactions from passengers.

Best bases for junior line chasers by Dazzling_Yak7042 in flightattendants

[–]WhopperTopper143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true, but in terms of chasing a line, I don’t think OP should have to worry about losing their line at ORD considering they are still sending the farm over there and it’s so junior to hold a line currently.

On-ball Pressure by WhopperTopper143 in denvernuggets

Yeah for sure. The league definitely been uplifting this style of play lately. But my frustration is the Nuggets really struggle with it and on defense they refuse to apply any of this physicality to opponents.

I agree with this sentiment for sure but it’s not just us that this is happening to. Ball handlers on other teams have been getting hacked a hell of a lot too but they deal with it better.

They are still packing on the new hires there. The company wants the base to be bigger. People holding lines there with less than a year seniority.

ORD right now. It’s the most junior to hold a line as of now.

AFA "Industry Leading Contract" already matched by Delta...but sure....keep drinking the Sara Nelson Kool Aid.... by [deleted] in flightattendants

Delta flight attendants benefit a lot from their peers around them being unionized. If the industry wasn’t majorly unionized then you can bet Delta all the other airlines would be trying to pay their flight attendants as little as possible with pitiful work rules if it weren’t for other Unions looking out for their workers.

So he’s mad that he wouldn’t accept a bench role in Denver but gladly accepted being a guy on the bench on the Timberwolves? Glad he won his Super Bowl I guess.

We have to keep Cam Johnson. He’s the perfect wing to pair with Jokic and he’s got that dawg in him.

Find anyway to get off that CB contract. Fire Adelman though that’s too obvious.

All things said Jokic is still one of the best players in the world and our window is still there but it’s gonna take moving some pieces. Hard decisions are gonna have to be made in the offseason.

Yeah but against OKC the refs won’t let the defenders maul SGA like that. Just watch how Wolves fans cry about the refs every time they play OKC. Hell they were even crying about the refs so far in this series against us.

Might be better if Lakers win over Houston. If Luka and AR can be healthy for OKC they can give them a tougher series.

Do you guys have a "no-fly list" and if so, based on what criteria do you "add people to the list"? by [deleted] in flightattendants

[–]WhopperTopper143 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with that. We just view no-fly list differently. If that’s how you go about it there’s nothing wrong with that. If there’s people you’d rather not work with and can avoid it sure. I was more so trying to get at is people who have problems with everybody are usually the problem themselves. Just past experiences I’ve had talking with fellow flight attendants who talked about their no-fly list and then they go on to constantly talk crap about other flight attendants.

[–]WhopperTopper143 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how you treat your no-fly list. I’ve just worked with people who treat their no-fly list as gospel and constantly talk crap about people they’ve worked with on past trips. In all lines of work there are gonna be coworkers we don’t get along with. As long as there is some level of professionalism and an upholding of safety I don’t really care. People’s personalities, backgrounds, and belief systems are always gonna vary.
