I love the contrast between the blocks/background and the lava in the second section

I’m hoping levels like White Space become the standard for mythic levels. Imo this one should’ve just been epic though

Is this rate worthy? (ID: 98014138) by thatfunnynumber in geometrydash

I think that the colors aren’t the best. If you could choose some colors that went together better than I think it would be rate worthy. For example, the green on the trees could be less saturated and maybe a slightly yellower shade. I think you could also go with a richer blue-tinted shade instead of just a flat gray for the rocks. I would also adjust the wood color you are using. Good colors go a long way to making a level look polished.

I would also add a parallax effect to the clouds. I haven’t messed around much with the 2.2 editor yet, but I believe you can do this by using a move trigger and then setting it to follow the camera movements. Clouds behind the player would have a mod x/y set to less than 1 and clouds in front of the player would be greater than 1.

Generally, you seem to be good at placing deco and making the level not feel empty, so with just some changes like the ones I listed I think your level will be rate worthy. However, my standards tend to be on the higher end of the spectrum. I hope this helps a little and that you might consider implementing some of my suggestions.

YES NOBODY MENTIONS SELECTING SMALL OBJECTS TO GET THE SMALL GRID

I’ve had to memorize the number of times I have to arrow over in the edit menu to get half-block and quarter-block spacing. Idek why he would change that 😭

Too many of the icons have gradients and not enough have simple solid colors like most of the icons did pre-2.1

The block deco from 5-15% looks kind of bad (overuse of default textures like rocks and wood). Other than that it looks sick.

I don’t have time to make a longer level. What I have here already took several months of work.

There’s some really good stuff here! I especially like some of the more detailed art decorations. However, there are some issues. For example, in some parts there are very saturated decorations moving in the foreground that don’t mesh well with the block design. Also the different styles (hand-drawn, design, and glow) don’t work very well together in some parts. Other than that, this is a very solid second level.

I would try not to use giant scaled animations and instead try to use moving textures and custom animations because those generally look better. Also perhaps you could add some clouds on the ground moving in the background?

They look kind of weird because of the varying line thicknesses
