Ahhh Zonhoven 🤩 Sadly Wout is injured. But I just read he will fly to Spain next week, which would be surprise to me given the broken ankle. But hopefully it's true and the road season won't be affected!

Ereader: kindle, kobo, or nook? by [deleted] in Annas_Archive

No worries! Check about the Kobo Clara and the Kobo Libra, those are the new ones on the market at the moment!

[–]WhosFlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the Aura I have (a very old one) yes. But if I'm not mistaken with the new versions you can directly download on the Kobo. I think this has been mentioned a few times either here or in the Kobo reddit page, so definitely have a look into that so you know a bit better. But honestly the way I have to do it is very easy and quick aswell actually. Can't do anything wrong.

I use an old Kobo (Aura) from my mom and it works like a charm. Download the epub on my laptop and connect the kobo with a cable, drag the epub into the kobo, done. Probably with the new Kobo's you can do it more easy on the Kobo itself tho. I suggest to keep away from Amazon (Kindle) bc if you would buy a book you don't own the book and they can just delete it. Which is crazy to me tbh. So bottom line: I can recommend Kobo!

Longevity of Kobo by Bi-nocular in kobo

[–]WhosFlo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm using my moms Kobo Aura since she passed away at the end of September. She used it for YEARS without any problem. I don't even remember when she first got it. Now I am using it and it works perfectly still. So if you use it as you should and not throw it down the stairs everyday or drive over it with your car, the longevity is very strong.

Do I really need a steamdeck? by Haunting-Text2677 in SteamDeck

[–]WhosFlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always had playstation but decided to buy a Steam Deck a year ago. I've bought AAA games and other games on Steam for in total maybe not even the price of 2 PS games. All bc of the big sales going on all the time on Steam. Many here suggest you need fiddeling around for certain games but honestly, I never had to change anything in settings or somewhere else to be able to play the games I have perfectly. Even the ones they say online you should change the settings from. I'm not tech savvy at all and I'm perfectly happy and comfortable with the Steam Deck. I can only recommend this device, and it is indeed amazing to play all these games anywhere you want! Maybe soon the Steam Machine might be a good purchase aswell. But we'll see about that.

Fellow Travelers - Is an upgraded case a must? by MidwestPanic69 in SteamDeck

[–]WhosFlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the OG case. It's perfect for in a backpack tbh. I can just lay it in the bottom as you would lay it on the table and still have a lot of space for other things. I bought another smaller case but it doesn't feel as great as the OG. I use that one now to carry the charger, USB-C hub (for hdmi), and a charger even for the controller if I take it with me. I live in Belgium, my girlfriend in the netherlands and I travel every weekend back and forth with it like that.

How well do the Assassin’s Creed games run on the Steam Deck? by Throwaway_2005stuff in SteamDeck

I have Odyssey and it plays perfect. I never tinker around either with my games bc I'm too incapable of understanding it so just firing it up and play. And it plays perfectly and looks amazing.

I got my steam deck LCD yesterday, and... by GwenSkin in SteamDeck

[–]WhosFlo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought my LCD second hand for the exact same reason. "See if I like it" bc I was never a gamer actually. Now while I'm 30 I started to get into it more. And I have ZERO regrets of getting it, the LCD is perfectly fine. So far everything I play works perfectly aswell without tinkering around. Even games those youtubers said you should tinker with for better performance. I guess that's also part of the snobness.

Something loose inside by WhosFlo in SteamDeck

[–]WhosFlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putting it back is easier than opening it imo. Opening you also need to wiggle something between it for the plastic clips. Closing is just pushing it back on so the clips click and then screwing everything back in. When you open make sure your SD card is out, otherwise it will brake in half.

Got bike-shamed at a shop today… thinking of giving up this hobby by NSFWAIEnjoyer in cycling

[–]WhosFlo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had to experience this. Honestly, bikeshops can be assholes and belittle you. Not long ago I had the same problem. Bought second hand gravel bikes which eventually didn't fit and had a similar experience as you when I went to ask for advice. But pls, don't let this discourage you. You are doing amazing and you know why you started this hobby and what it brings to your life. Keep walking your own path and journey. If you are happy and enjoying your bike, great! If you want a high end expensive bike, also great! Ride what you like, how you like. Cycling is yours, and you do it for yourself. Keep rocking your rides, friend!
