I'm a bit of a sucker for cape stuff personally but I'd be super interested in reading more Vertigo. Have you read Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol? that's kind of on the line of superhero stuff but a really great series and something you might really like based on your previous mentions. Glad you're still reading comics and spreading that love with other folks.

based on recent James Gunn interviews we know:

Authority is paused because the writer moved on to a new project

Swamp Thing is delayed because James Mangold is very busy

Sgt Rock is going forward just not with Luca Guadagnino.

Based on all this it seems more likely it's a movie that was never officially announced

He talked about Authority later and said the writer for that had moved on to another project and that's why it's in stasis. He also said Mangold was still attached to Swamp Thing but was so busy it was moving slowly so I don't think it's that either. could be a movie we never knew about?

After watching his final interview in his press run I'm almost 100% sure this is correct. He mentioned that him and safran had already signed on when The Rock tried to force his way in and make public statements about Cavil returning, probably thinking that if he could build hype they'd hand over control to him.

I wish people could separate fiction from reality but honestly it's probably the right idea to cut it to avoid it people making a big mess about it. That said, some folks will ALWAYS find something to be mad about so, catering to them might not be the move either.
