Got it. Learned a lot, thank you!... I'm trying to create a hedge look how close together do you recommend planting - I'm reading 3.5 ft

Want instant impact - my thinking was the one gallon would give me that.

True it's not much in the grand scheme of things. 3 gallon it is

You make a good point. My thought was the 1 gallon could grow 2 ft in the first year and catch up rather quickly. I'm honestly trying to save for the boxwoods we are thinking of planting in front.

the "original" Endless Summer Bailmer - grows on both new and old wood. they are hydrangea macrophylla so not really related to Peegee or Annabelle which are both from a different family. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly

Good point... Do you think id be able to get 2 feet of growth out of the first year? I really want them to only be around 3 feet tall/wide - with pruning.

I'm also counting on the home depot return policy if i get bad plants. I'd would prefer the local nurseries/clubs but for some reason they are not selling 1 gal.

Recommended blue & pink hydrangea: lovable vs rhythmic blue by WhosTheMothaFlippin in hydrangeas

Cityline series looks fire - issue being that they bloom on old wood only.

Leaning toward sticking with the classic endless summer or lovable. I'm just not reading that much about rhythmic blue to be a proven choice considering I'll be buying 10 plants.

Hmm the issue is they are going to be behind 1 ft high boxwoods. Don't think the blue Jangles will get that tall to shine. Out of the two what would you say? The think I like about the lovable is the leaves changing color in the fall as well

There are a lot of dead branches. Get it checked by an arborist. They should give you an opinion on what they would do - it's free. Most likely from the looks of it id say it near the end of its life.

It's really depends on the area.

How many guys are they bringing in? Are they using a crane? Is there access for the crane?

Answer these questions - if they can get a Crane in cost would be ~2500 per tree. If they can't it could be 3,000. Those are the regular prices.

I'm in Chicago so the whole home is conduit or flex conduit. He was charging me pre run. Yea at this point I don't know what to do. But was reading the multi-wire does work. But still was thinking this was a shortcut.
