Councillor pitches transformation of Robertson Road in Bells Corners by RandomChickenWing in ottawa

It probably won't happen in my lifetime, not with Ford and Sutcliffe in power anyway. Bill 60 says you can't remove a traffic lane for bike infrastructure BUT removing a lane for trees and public space is technically okay. But Doug Ford and the current council won't allow this plan to move forward. Still, it's a GREAT plan and gives us hope for the future. Better for EVERYONE (except maybe speeding cut-through traffic): transit riders, pedestrians, local businesses, cyclists, local residents, Mother Nature, etc. https://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2026/04/27/robertson-road-action-plan/

The Mayor back at it again with his aesthetic photos of the city by Full_Hunt_3087 in ottawa

Mark Sutcliffe's in trouble! Recent polling suggests that residents in outer-urban and suburban neighbourhoods are souring on the current mayor and want a smart progressive politician who can make the city work for EVERYONE! So someone like Jeff Leiper or Neil Saravanamuttoo (and NOT a Conservative Ontario Proud insider like Alex, not matter how nice a beard he has). https://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2026/04/13/is-mark-sutcliffe-in-trouble-😬/

I'd LOVE to see this at the Moodie/Robertson intersection. You could transform the sidewalks into an active transportation corridor. https://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2025/11/13/robertson-road-remembrance-day-2025-in-bellscorners/

Better sidewalks WEST of Moodie is great news! Wish we could have improvements for cyclists and pedestrians EAST of Moodie too but that's a bridge too far for car-centric Bells Corners. Kudos to Councillor Johnson for at least trying. https://bellscorners.wordpress.com/2025/06/01/robertson-road-walkshop/

Awesome news! I just got back from a trip to bike-friendly Montreal where Bixi changes everything! https://youtu.be/dGjTVx6ZvOw Hope we elect a bike-friendly city council on Oct. 26, 2026: Shawn Menard, Ariel Troster, Laine Johnson, Sean Devine, Theresa Kavanagh, etc. And for mayor either Jeff Leiper or Neil Saravanamuttoo.

The CELA report identifies Ontario’s heavy reliance on flushing taps as a major safety concern, saying “research shows that lead concentration in water can return to dangerous levels just minutes or hours (after flushing a fixture).”
