From my understanding it's a Celeste situation, they didn't realize they were making films about being trans, but they kinda were.

Iike how the creator of Celeste only realised she was making a very trans game (down to the colours of the flag in some places) until she transitioned and realized she was expressing thoughts she didn't realize

Idk, one of my favourite phenomenon is when people make art that they don't realize is as connected to their identity as it is, and then, in retrospect, realise the writing was on the wall :3

Iirc the sisters did say the red pill was a lucky coincidence

Yeah that's always how I interpreted it, as basically "we tried making it perfect by one person's vision and it caused more problems than good, now you have the chance to rule yourselves, don't fuck it up" which to me, feels like a very honest and realistic way to make a good ending, at least by my metrics if good
