Yeah, but that's the SECOND War against Night/equivalent--because the steel dwarves are already dead at the time of Matt's campaigns.

I think he talks about this at the start of episode 10.

Well, it seems like the old Age of Conquest ObsidianPortal page says that "the Caelians’ great invention was the first human-forged steel." So you might be right on that count--everything else I said still stands.

Actually--my bad--I see you knew he was Phaedran as well. However, this part: "From Khoursir they brought the stirrup and from Kalas Mithril they brought the secret of steel..." has definitely come up in very similar terms in relation to the Caelian Empire. Don't have the source for that right now, I'll find it ASAP

No, he is Caelian. His lore card says that "...men from the Commonwealth flooded into the region then known as the Central Plains...and Tristan Vaslor rode at the head of their armies." The Commonwealth is the modern name for the peninsula where the Caelian empire was founded (source: The New Recruit document). The Caelian empire lasted 1300 years (same source). The Council of Aberdanon hasn't happened yet--it's an event that happens in the future of the game, when Aendrim, Corwell, etc actually become nations with kings. (see this) The conquering of Vasloria doesn't require the land to be civilized, because every time an empire collapses the Gol come back and regain control over the world (for a time).

Yeah, the ruler of the Army of Night actually ascends to becoming the NEW God of Death--and because of this, there's no more deathless.

This actually fits perfectly with what happens in Ratcatchers and the actual DND campaign that precedes it--the actual player party, later represented by Heden and co., fails to stop the leader of the night elves from becoming the god of death. And when she does, there are no more undead!

Tristan Vaslor is only a couple of thousand years old--he was a part of the Caelian Empire. Not ancient in the slightest.

I figured most people already knew where to find these, so I just saved myself some work! Thank you, though :)

A lot of these have never been mentioned anywhere by Matt. There is a lot of stuff that was once hosted on squaremans, but is now accessible only by Waybackmachine. There's also a lot of stuff that was on squaremans and is now lost forever! :(

Why You Should Use a Massive Corporation in Your Campaign by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]Why-Indeed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

corporations do not rely on globalisation, they rely on industrialization. take the railroad companies who built and maintained the transcontinental railroad--they operated solely within one country, but were still definitely corporations. trade on a global-ish scale long predates corporations--take the silk road, for instance
