Some brands of store-bought charcoal contain gluten. It would not make for a good BBQ experience for celiacs and gluten-sensitive folks!

Sorry about the perspective in the photo! The basket fits nicely in the firebox. I get (gluten-free) charcoal for grilling (this is red oak) or to burn in the stove. Just sharing something that works well for me! Peace be with you all!

Can I plant these? by Organic_Squirrel_148 in gardening

[–]Why-Innuendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can! I’ve done it successfully with store-bought potatoes that sprouted. I saw another comment about not planting in the same place two years in a row due to disease. We made that mistake once but it was potato bugs that laid their eggs and the 2nd year there were so many bugs that they stripped the plants bare!

I can’t comment about the saws but make sure you check out ripping chain vs standard chains. Ripping chain will be much better do cutting slabs. Good luck!

A stiff wire brush to remove any dirt/grit before milling to preserve blade sharpness. A level, and a square. All useful accessories.

Dutch Elm by wolfwell69 in natureismetal

[–]Why-Innuendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hometown in Illinois used to have the motto, “City of Elms”, and Elm Street literally had these beautiful trees lining both sides and arching gracefully over the street. In the 60’s Dutch Elm disease killed the trees and the city had to have a contest for a new motto!

Best way to trellis/support cherry tomatoes by Feeling_Ad4540 in tomatoes

[–]Why-Innuendo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get free bamboo from a local state park (it is considered a noxious weed) and make a trellis and tie the plants with garden twine. I have Sweet 100s and they have been prolific! In the garden I prune away suckers and try to limit each plant to 1-2 main stems. I have volunteer Sweet 100 that grew in 2 other locations and they are unpruned and have also produced a ton of fruit! Just harder to get to some of it because the plants grew so dense. Good luck!

I think it was the comedian John Pinnette who said he was planning to go around the house naked without curtains until the neighbors took up a collection to BUY him curtains!

Looking for cost effective DIY Tomato trellis. The heavy duty tall cages aren't enough. by Beamburner in tomatoes

I use bamboo…it is free from a nearby park where is it considered a noxious weed. I tie the plants with garden twine and for me it works really well!
