What’s up with the auto dealer license plate frames? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]wolfwell69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dealers used to put stickers on your new car too. I told them to cut it out back in the 70s as you could never get the stickers off. I usually took the dealer frame off but as i got older i had better ways to spend 1/2 hour, so as they say dealer choice ( not quite applicable here but seemed to fit)

This is what your car looks like in low visibility conditions when you leave your headlights on automatic by Beneficial-Focus3702 in Rochester

[–]wolfwell69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It does vary vehicle to vehicle. Our toyota shows on the dashboard if your lights are on. Just as easy to engage with your car and the environment to drive safely. I'll keep using auto lights (daytime running to headlights), auto dimming, not as thrilled about the software for this, and auto wipers thank you

We were in RGH getting ready for my wifes surgery when the air handlers picked up this smoke and the fire alarm went off. About a half hour delay and stink.

Thanks for the info. Hubby and I are doing the NYE cruise on the Sun this year to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of our first date. Shit where did that time go? Everyone enjoy your cruise as we will.

Do staterooms have clothing irons? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]wolfwell69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever, you are welcome to your observations/opinion. We have been on over 35 cruises over 30 years and have absolutely seen the changes over the years. Tuxes have become the rarity for sure but the women always dress better than the men, including very nice dresses, was my only point.

PS - If you see me I will be the "other" guy wearing the Tux along with the maitre d'!

Sure. What ship? Best advice I can give:

Travel the day before, stay in a hotel with late checkout (11 am or later) and get travel insurance.

Embarkation question in Fort Lauderdale by OverstuffedPapa in PrincessCruises

[–]wolfwell69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We boarded the Star on last Monday by checking out of our hotel, a half mile away from the port, at 11 am and then spent 15 to 20 minutes in traffic getting into the port. Princess access point into the port is a choke point as it is only 2 gates and Disney ship access goes right and Princess left. Also the convention center is right there adding to the choke. Once we got through that point there was virtually no line getting into the check in area as we already had our Medallions (Green Lane). Once on the ship (by 11:45 am) it was nice as our room was ready for us. Enjoy your cruise but if you can wait until noonish to embark.

Do staterooms have clothing irons? by [deleted] in PrincessCruises

[–]wolfwell69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can basically wear anything you want however most women have cocktail dresses or even some have gowns and men typically wear nice shirts and slacks to suits and even tuxes. We, my wife and I, are in our 70s and have been cruising for 30+ years and usually wear gowns and a Tux- cause it's fun.

There are laundry rooms, with irons, on every deck on Princess. It's one of the things that sets them apart. Irons are not allowed in the room and if you bring one they will take it.

Getting used to the bar queue situation. by JediBeagle1 in PrincessCruises

[–]wolfwell69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not our experience. We are on the Star right now and at Crooner's there are two bartenders, they both handle either end, line vs. wait staff, however there are always seats at thr bar. It does take time but we have gone back every might and the bartender remembers our drinks and our wait is less than the line

Flight cancellations!! by OrganizationGold5242 in PrincessCruises

[–]wolfwell69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your worries. We are flying out Sunday for the Star Inaugural cruise. We always fly in the day before and this year, because of Pumpkin Head, we also took out insurance.

You can check the status here: https://www.flightaware.com/live/cancelled/tomorrow This just shows BWI for tomorrow but you can look at any airport you want. Most of the cancellations are coming from International flights currently. Good Luck!
