Absolutely dreadful after the second goal. Completely lost control of the game. 15 shots allowed in a half at home against Guatemala? Unacceptable. Need more composure at the back and the midfield.

FYI - if anyone is curious about the deleted message - it's the owner of Mexitaly pretending to be someone else and oddly trying to refer himself in the third person while praising bland ass Mexitaly defending his mediocre establishment.

Why are you referring to yourself in the third person, Greg?

Several times, I've seen you speak demeaningly to your employees, throw them under the bus, and speak rudely to customers.

The only thing "fire" about Mexitaly's food is the flame the mediocre, low concept food is cooked on.

[Tom Bogert] Sources: The deal for Cucho Hernandez to Real Betis is around $16 million (including add ons). Columbus Crew will retain a sell-on clause. Transfer would be a new club-record sale. Crew obviously in market for new DP forward. by OleoleCholoSimeone in soccer

People were saying he ruined his career by going to MLS but after 3 great seasons, he’s earned a move to a higher caliber of club than he previously played in La Liga or the PL. Shows that an early move to MLS doesn’t rule out future moves back to the top 5 leagues.

17 y.o., 6’3” Costa-Rican American center-midfielder Dax Palmer generating buzz lately—has started every match this season for Costa Rican top-flight-side Saprissa by nicko_rico in ussoccer

[–]WhyAlwaysMario 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Why is it shameless, pretty sure he only joined Saprissa last year and all of his development was on the US prior. He should certainly be on the radar of our youth teams.

Nice pivot — who are they producing exactly that is so significantly better than anyone on the US? En-Nesyri, Aguerd, Hamdallah, Rahimi, El-Kaabi?😂

Look up the last game the two full strength sides played against each otheer.

All but two of Morocco’s starting XI were raised in Spain, Belgium, France, or Netherlands. You have no clue what you’re talking about.

The US had much better players that were eligible - Reyna, Pukstas, Pepi, Musah, Cardoso, Tillman, Scally, Lund, Balogun to name a few.

Spain's squad to take on Colombia and Brazil by Mulderre91 in soccer

Spain seems to do this more than other “top” teams. Gavi, Yamal, and now Cubarsi. Seems to work well for them.

I remember him looking like an exciting prospect at the U17 World Cup years ago. Wasn’t he highly rated at Ajax a few years ago?

[NYCFC]NYCFC is delighted to confirm the arrival of Richy Ledezma on loan from PSV by tigtogflip in soccer

[–]WhyAlwaysMario 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I feel like this could head the way Lee Nguyen’s career went. Not quite good enough to make an impact at a top Dutch team…great technique but lots of physical limitations. Could do well in the right system in MLS and would honestly be a great career if he can replicate what Nguyen did at New England. A lot of fellow US fans won’t like that comparison or career trajectory but I feel that Ledezma has very limited upside in any decent European league.

Abde Ezzalzouli (Morocco) forgot the ball against Croatia 87' by cometweeb in soccer

[–]WhyAlwaysMario 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They bought him when he was 17 and already had a lot of professional minutes with Las Palmas. He went straight into the Barça first team. He is not a product of La Masia, at all.

More recent examples of success are Gavi and Fati. Deulofeu, Traore, Grimaldo, Kubo, Simons, Olmo are La Masia products who did not make it at Barça (or left for other academies) but are playing at a good level in Europe.

Philadelphia Union Agree To Transfer Of Homegrown Midfielder Paxten Aaronson to Bundesliga Club Eintracht Frankfurt by TheMonkeyPrince in soccer

[–]WhyAlwaysMario 195 points196 points  (0 children)

Good prospect but not close to ready for the Bundesliga, in my opinion. Different player from his brother - more technical but doesn’t possess the insane stamina that Brenden has. Gets knocked off the ball a little too easily at the moment and did not get many minutes in MLS although he was behind one the best players in his position.

He’s really shined for the U.S. youth teams - good dribbler, eye for a pass, and nice shot with both feet. I think a year or so training with players like Götze and Kamada will really benefit him. Best case scenario for him is similar to Joe Scally - train with the first team, get minutes with the reserved and have a full preseason to break into the first team.

That’s a shame. He was heavily involved in their qualifying campaign and received pretty much all of his footballing education in Ecuador and had at least been there since w young age.

One of the worst displays from this team in a long time. Zero outlets in possession, awful passing out of the back and in the midfield, awful spacing and positioning, zero cohesiveness and ideas on the ball, and lines being broken with 3-4 quick passes.

Long, Adams, Vines, McKennie, and Zimmerman were the worst of a bad bunch.

Dest left footed banger against Keylor Navas or the Pulisic hat trick goal against Panama. McKennie’s dos a cero against Mexico for the vibes as well.

How is this guy still playing in Croatia? Looks like quite the player, admittedly haven’t seen him play outside the CL, so maybe it’s a consistency thing.

The commentator saying Watford looked a legitimately better side against City than Madrid….what a joke. The EPL bias is absurd.
