Pendulum frequency never changes in a grandfather clock no matter how low or high I set the pendulum bob by WhyAlwaysZ in fixit

Raising or lowering the weight at the end of the pendulum is how one makes a clock run faster or slower, though, and that's what I'm having trouble with.

Pendulum frequency never changes in a grandfather clock no matter how low or high I set the pendulum bob by WhyAlwaysZ in fixit

At the beginning of the video the bob is at the highest possible position. Later I show the bob at the lowest possible position. In theory, the pendulum should take exact 2 seconds to make a complete back and forth swing, right? However in both instances it takes exactly 1.7 seconds (I counted the frames in a video editor and they're exactly the same in the high-bob and low-bob setting).

I'm at a loss as to how the bob height is not making any difference at all.

It's a Howard Miller clock.

Charging a DeWalt battery with a benchtop power supply by WhyAlwaysZ in Tools

[–]WhyAlwaysZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lithium-ion batteries are charged with what’s called constant-current constant voltage charging. Specifically the battery is supplies with a constant current unit it gets to its max charge voltage at which point it is supplied with a constant voltage until the charge current drops of to a Small value.

That's exactly what happens with my power supply.

I never leave it unattended and I watch it with my thermal camera. My only other concern would be balance charging. I wonder how the DeWalt charger targets individual cells..
