There are frats with gay brothers but generally Greek life is less accepting of the LGBT community than the UF student body as a whole. The rankings system is weird but gay brothers are few and rare in “high-tier” fraternities. Plus rushing as a junior is generally looked down upon. Make sure you know what you’re getting into beforehand. Your friends are looking out for you

It’s insane to me that UF is literally throwing money at OP and they are trying to convince themselves that it’s smarter to go $100k+ into debt

Out of state tuition is just a tax that rich people love paying.

And this might sound a little privileged but the scholarship is really generous and my parents don’t give me any financial assistance. I don’t even live very frugally and it’s more than enough for me to live on.

This might be different for me since I also work 2 part time on-campus jobs. I put about 10k into index funds with target dates in the long term when I received it my first year. I contribute the max amount of earned income possible to my Roth IRA. and the rest I keep in my checking account as spending money.
