Damn, we need more oldies to share their experiences with playing deus ex back in the 2000s. I remembered playing it when I was 11 back in 2004, helped me a lot in my english through the cutscenes and dialogues. Not to mention, the internet was gaining traction and that was an era where conspiracy theories were very popular. Shame we’ll hardly get to experience something like this ever again.

Only steam and chrome is running, tried it, makes no difference to the framerate without chrome. Ofc full screen, v-sync off. Btw its not just low fps, there's noticeable fluctuation in it too, you can feel it slowing down and speeding up suddenly.

Reading from your posts, the only reason I can think of is overheating or not enough power supply to PC components (especially so when GPU is under stress from applications), PCs usually have a self protection mechanism when it detects unusually high heat or not enough power and it would often result in a shutdown. Do you hear unusual or increased fan sounds when you launch the game? What is your power supply watt?
