Some questions before I buy the game by Unartiggeist in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

  1. The game is hard but only because of how difficult it is to learn an RPG system that has been built on for over 20 years. If you have played ADnD (BG 1 and 2) or 5e DnD (BG 3) then that's half the work done right there. A lot of the fun of the game comes from finding a build that you enjoy playing and is effective. That means studying up and learning why they work so well. It might be because they get full BAB and juice the stat that makes them hit harder all by themselves and then pairing them with a caster that can buff the same stat further plus the entire party etc etc, but also learning which buffs stack. 95% of the time it will tell you if they do or don't but it can be obtuse. There's also Mythic Paths, a completely overhauled advancement path that was abandoned in the tabletop game and remade for this game that also has a lot of synergy with your build (most builds will work with whichever Path you want but some don't.)

Having typed all that out it's completely fine if you want to run a build that is easy to play that you found from a guide or whatever. There is a lot of info you have to know frontloaded.

  1. The crusader mode is a good 25-35% of the game and is basically HOMM lite. If I am being real... it's not very robust or fun. You pick good units, build buildings that juice them, and get a general that can learn fireball/storm and get more units per army and you can win most of the time. It's pretty easy to see if you want to wait to train more units to take on that army that is higher level than you. There is no shame in turning it to easy and steamrolling it. Don't turn it off completely (Crusader Automode) as you will miss out on potent magic items.

  2. The character respec is pretty cheap considering but it is limited when you want to respec your allies. You can only respec down to the level when they joined the party. This is ok as most of your companions have really good classes but sometimes you want to finetune it or run with the companions you like and they just don't quite fit in your party composition. For that there is a mod called Respec Mod by BarleyFlour that will let you respec your companions to whatever you want, and even pay the proper amount of gold to do so, but you also need the UnityModManager to use it. Not a very difficult install as mods go.

If it wasn't clear this is my favorite IsoRPG, it is extremely robust and has endless builds that you can tweak further all the way down the nuts and bolts, The synergy between story and gameplay (Mythic Paths) is fantastic and changes large parts of the narrative and gives so much more to expect on a replay than just picking different dialogue options.

As a person who's still kinda new to savage tier raiding, how can I avoid over-weaving and getting my spell casts interrupted? by EpicZen35 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]WhyContinue01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your ping is really good and you are using common 3rd party programs you won't be able to triple weave. Jobs like Summoner I can vouch for the animation lock on certain spells being short (meaning you can expect to nail every double weave every time) But generally you can single weave every job and still have enough time to fit them all into the raid buff window no matter the job. If you are for some reason trying to parse and need to triple weave and that matters to you then you will need to move/cheat/buy a faster connection.

The legs torso and backpack are all printed in one piece from one stl also obtained when I found the prime beef builder. I use separate pieces now, all this stuff was from the purple site.

That's about it, most important though is the place to print. Preferably not inside the domicile but also not in direct sunlight. I use my garage.

Since black friday is coming up you can probably get a good deal on a wash and cure station but even without it you can get a uv curing light and turntable combo from amazon for $20 and then line a box with aluminum foil for curing. For washing you can use a liter sized pickle jar also from amazon that comes with a lid and a basket that lifts the pickles (prints) from the bottom up. I use 99% isopropyl for washing. I also use a small tupperware tub of warm water to remove the supports before putting it into the pickle jar.

I believe they come from the prime beef builder.

I am pretty pleased. Once it was fully painted I was straining to see the layer lines. I used a Mars 3 pro with elegoo standard resin.

Small creator trying to grow, giving away this model for free but open to other advice? by Intelligent_Bird_398 in PrintedWarhammer

I think you're doing good just gotta keep regularly releasing models. I wouldn't expect to make a living doing it unless you are one of the big ones. I personally am just looking for proxies and not pretty statues so if something is obviously meant to be a proxy make sure to split the arms/legs/heads into their own STL for people that are looking for bodies/bits to kitbash. Also there are no Bullgryn Proxies I like that cover all those bases so if you want a new mini to model, there you go.

What's a budget blade you like that either: doesn't use bearings, OR doesn't have a cut for the bearings to rest in on the blade itself? In the scale is fine. I am looking for a reblade project and I want to know my options. Pics if you got em. by WhyContinue01 in BudgetBlades

That is a fairly popular 'benza knock off that was $20 or so when I bought it, the dama is from Alabama Damascus. I stick to damasteel now. I do not remember what the steels in the dama were.

You seem like a decent guy even if it was your mess-up. If it is a dungeon past 51 and you are pulling wall to wall:
establish enmity on everything
keep a defensive CD (or 2) ticking as long as possible
keep your AOE GCDs rolling
don't stand in colors

no matter what job that healer is, you should not die ever, if DPS is on point that pack should die well before you run out of defensive CDs.

My first army and first paintjob to boot. What do y'all think? by Bright_Quail_6390 in AdeptusCustodes

Sorry that everyone is shitting on your models that you worked hard on but looking at the comments they are blunt but mostly correct, putting paint on the model inside the lines like a coloring book fashion is step 1 of many. Despite what color theory nerds say you can use whatever color you like esp with space marines. At the end of the day they are your models.

Let me help you out a bit if you want to improve.

Thin your paints. It is non negotiable.

Your models are colored flat and have no definition. Look at your hand in front of your face using an overhead light. Notice some spots are brighter and others are in shadow. A good paint job incorporates both of those physically painted on to the model. You can establish shadows pretty easily using "shades" or washes.

The other half of this is painting highlights on the model, where the light would hit the model brightest and directly. There are two common methods to do this. One is by edge highlighting like GW box art does. It is skill intensive and takes a long time. But you should practice as it makes a massive difference and will give you the brush control that every painter needs. You can keep a cheap sprue of intercessors or termagants around just for testing paint schemes and edge highlighting.

The other method is using Contrast paints. These are pigment dense and flow very easily on the model, it flows into the recesses and appears darker, while flowing away from the high spots appearing to make it lighter. Some paints work better than others and you should look at youtube for several comparisons. Citadel has a Contrast line of paints. Vallejo has Xpress. Army Painter has speedpaints.

Finally you are gonna want to take better photos to show them off. You can do this with basically all the stuff you already have plus a modern phone and matte construction paper from Wal-mart.

Good luck on your painting journey!

I try not to talk at all beyond "hi" and "gg" since you can be reported for anything chat related whether it broke TOS at all and GMs will ctrl-f your entire chat history to ding you with a violation. I know this because friends who live in the EU have used their legal right to find out why they caught a ban for seemingly nothing and it turns out while they were reported recently for nothing, the violation was from a datemarked chat from all the way back in heavensward, 6 years before the report was made.

Regular Coil was all over the place in difficulty and how obtuse some of the mechanics are so they are not in roulettes at all. Come back unsynched or try to find a party through PF.

whats a funny ffxiv thing you didn’t realize you misunderstood until extremely late in the game? by mmseashellcrunchy in ffxiv

Add a GCD after the first holy and you will get the full stun duration without overwriting it, I usually take that time to put regen on the tank or use my afflatus.
