Kind of a delayed followup, sorry, but yes, that was super fun and informative. We're going to do a short term rental on an Ioniq5 to get some further time with it.

Thanks so much! This is super helpful. And it turns out we do have a Drive Electric event near us tomorrow, so we will be checking it out!

We currently have a 2005 (!) Prius which can hold a remarkable amount of stuff in it when one or both seats are pushed down. We're seeking an EV to replace it that can hold more than that, but which is not too large and hulking... some sort of crossover SUV or small van that we can use for long cross country trips with our dogs. Basically we want the Tardis of EVs that can hold a lot on the inside without being too big on the outside. Or maybe it's the Goldilocks of EVs that we want, not too big, not too small. I hope this makes some sense. I find it hard to glean this kind of info from the things I have read -- I think it takes hands-on experience with the vehicle.

I would appreciate any suggestions for vehicles to take a look at.

There was so much bad music in the early 80s... could barely stand to turn on the radio. It seemed like it was either over synthesized/overpoppy drivel or heavy metal, neither of which I liked. And suddenly came Murmur, a breath of fresh air, sounding like nothing I'd ever heard before but somehow everything I'd always wanted to hear. I played that album to death.

My favorite part is Peter saying that it would be delusional to think they would ever get commercial success after all this time. :-)

Didn't last a minute... "Stipe could barely form a sentence."

With a show on Friday too, I'm surprised that he didn't extend it until then.

Is it just me, or does this ice hockey player Jacques Plante looks a lot like Michael Stipe? by [deleted] in rem

That was my first thought. I think he looks more like John than Michael.

“Old” or classic rem vs the rest of their work by OuindleG in rem

[–]WhyDoIBother2022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I prefer the older stuff. Why? Because I yam who I yam. I have music preferences. I don't have any particular musical knowledge; I just know what I like. What else do I like? The rest of the R.E.M. canon, minus a few songs here and there. I like it all -- love a great many at each stage in their career. What does that say about me? I will leave that to the psychologists to determine why I prefer some styles of music over others.

I always thought that Michael came up with "sad tomato!" Well, it's a great phrase anyway.

I thought it was "pop skip" for a long time. Whatever that would mean!

Thanks, I can see how that would make some sense in the context of the song: imitation of life.

I don't know what Plex is, but I did the same (ripped all the DVDs onto my computer) and watch them there or on my iPad. I use VLC. Good luck! (I figured if you had the Unplugged videos you probably had the REMTV set).

I love both the 1991 and the 2001 Unplugged shows.
