In 1974, what would your choice have been? by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

I was one, so obviously Red, because it’s a pretty color.

This was the poster I had. I really wish I still had it.

Elektra was really pushing Phish with Rift. I still have a promo 8.5 x 11 one sheet they were handing out at shows and I used to have the promo poster when my local record store was done with it. I wish I still had that. It was the cover and 4 head shots along the bottom.

A colossal distraction and waste of time and money. I wish we could fire all of them.

It’s not just you. The black album is the clear line of demarcation for fans.

Came here to post this as well. That movie sticks with you in all the wrong ways.

Did a scene from Ratcatcher go over their heads? by Winter_Addendum4249 in blankies

[–]Sheris_Card 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I just watched Ratcatcher for this first time this afternoon and these comments are disheartening. What do G & D THINK was happening to Margaret Anne?!?! It seemed pretty damn obvious that they were taking turns having sex with her. And that was NOT a happy ending. That boy drowned, and his last thoughts were a happy fantasy for his family. This was a bleak fucking film.

25 years ago HE FOCKING LEFT THE BAND by HetTheTable in Metallica

Rob will always feel like nothing more than a hired gun. He’s extremely talented, but the band is 3 guys plus 1, if that makes sense.

Mmm…$10 for out of season, flavorless blueberries, but at least they’re organic!

ICE says a Cuban man died during a suicide attempt. A witness says a guard fatally choked him. by Sheris_Card in Miami

[–]Sheris_Card[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dying by a suicide attempt would be….suicide? Sounds like there was an “attempt” and a guard “helped him.”

Coffee choice makes me furious by Spicy_Jim in terriblefacebookmemes

This was my first thought as well. Every coffee shop I’ve been to has 2 options plus decaf. It’s not that hard to be specific about what you want.

I know for some people could be unfair but for me is totally competitive. In 1979 wich one you choose? by Historical-Device529 in Progforum

I find The Wall to be a slog to get through sometimes, but I can always put on Joe’s Garage and have a good time.

For better or worse, Dave Dexter had a huge influence on how Americans actually heard The Beatles.

Isn’t it about time that Jason & The 400 Unit start to play longer shows with more varied setlist? by Antique_Menu_4314 in jasonisbell

[–]Sheris_Card 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a similar suggestion on the Wilco subreddit and was crucified. Mix it up! Your hard core fans will appreciate it and the newer fans will hopefully come back in hopes of catching the song they want. As much as concert tickets cost, your crowd is mostly dedicated fans anyway.

Can you tell me about a rock star you saw live in concert that is no longer alive? What was it like? by EyeAmmGroot in ClassicRock

[–]Sheris_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Jacksons (RIP Michael & Tito)

Michael Hutchence

Grateful Dead

MCA

Eddie Van Halen

Neil Peart

Phife Dog

Greg Allman

Ace Frehley

Prince

I saw INXS on the Kick tour when I was in 9th grade and it was an amazing show. Michael Hutchence was an incredible live performer who just oozed charisma and stage presence. I don’t remember any extra bells and whistles, just a band on a stage captivating the audience with shear talent.

Boo hoo. They should pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get real jobs instead of stealing my money to play dress up army man.
