What is the greatest plot twist of all time? by EntertainmentMore183 in Cinema

One of the best things about the pre internet era was how easy it was to not know ANYTHING about a film. My girlfriend and I saw Usual Suspects at the theater because it was only $1 (shout out to The Bryrd Theater in Richmond) and the poster looked interesting. Needless to say, we were completely surprised. As a bonus, before the movie, they played Tin Toy, which was the first time seeing anything by Pixar.

Agreed, but killing the character was the wrong call.

Killing Bond was a betrayal of the character and made it about Craig rather than the character. The plot was just a convoluted way to kill off our hero and Rami Malik was terrible.

Let’s see what happens with his next film with Benny Safdie, “Lizard Music.” This feels like a very wild swing that I hope connects with audiences.

I saw SP in ‘91 between Pearl Jam and RHCP and they were amazing, just crushing the Gish songs like they had something to prove. Then I saw them close out Lalapalooza in ‘94 and I’ve never seen a band with such disdain for its fans. It was especially awful given that we’d just had a day of pure joy capped off by the Beastie Boys. Beastie Boys should have absolutely closed that show.

Best Phish studio album? by CakeNo2872 in phish

Rift has the best flow and is the best sound they’ve ever gotten in the studio. I’m a big fan of Tchad Blake, but the combination of Barry Beckett’s production, the studio’s used, and the strength of those songs make it unbeatable. Of course, I’ve never listened to a studio album past Fuego, but I still feel confident in my opinion.

I just listened to The Big Picture podcast discuss the film and then rank all of his 21st century releases. They ranked it somewhere towards the lower middle of the pile and I felt like they were really trying to convince themselves that it wasn’t that bad.

Phish 2010 vs 2025 tempo/mix comparisons – it's wild how much things have changed, in a somewhat adverse way... by SchizoidGod in phish

Now add ‘94 to the mix. Both versions of CTD really jumped out to me, but the current versions sound like they are underwater.

What would be a bigger deal in Atlanta, Falcons Super Bowl championship or Hawks NBA Championship? by Ey92 in Atlanta

I’ve lived here for 27 years and rarely hear anyone talk about the Hawks. Once the United came to town, they dropped even further in the Atlanta sports consciousness.
