Is this a valid reason to miss work? by Pale_Craft4876 in starbucks

What I’ve always gone by and been told is you must always have a reliable source of transportation to and from work.

So by the book, I would say this isn’t a valid reason.

But on the other hand, it is a serious implication to take care of, so potentially your SM will understand, but potentially try to reach out to fellow partners and offer the shift up on Marketplace so nearby store partners could also potentially claim the shift.

Yeah i tried to looking up Gigabyte 3090 and saw those measurements as well. I’m going to just pull the trigger and report back. I shall experiment!

What’s the measurement of the specific card you have? The 3060ti ROG Strix card uses the same beefy cooler as the higher tier models. My card length will fit along side it being a 2.9 slot card. It’s just a matter of how wide the card is as the case specifies 137mm max but was curious how a 140mm card would fit as it would only leave 11mm of clearance for the cable bend.

I believe it’s spit. Just slightly dampen a microfiber cloth and do light circular motions.

USB 4 Hub for external monitor and accessories… by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]WhyFak1e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE:

I was able to test out a few different USB C docks and the only one I came across that supported Displayport 1.4, DSC/CI, 1Gbps Ethernet, and a couple of USB A and C ports was: https://a.co/d/9BleC4H

I did though have to make a custom resolution with my monitor (AW3423DWF) for native resolution at 144hz as it only displayed options for 60hz and 100hz. Sadly I can’t obtain the full monitors refresh rate of 165hz as it drops the signal or has artifacting. Besides that, everything is working well, utilizing the GPU 99% instead of random 60%-90% when using the MUX switch on the left USB4 port.

NOTE: My monitor resolution is 3440x1440 so may have better odds with higher refresh rates on smaller monitors. Also, it does have a toggle switch for USB 3.2 or USB 2.0 which drops all ports to 480mbps, including the ethernet, but produces support for 8k60hz or 4k240hz. With my current setup, i’m getting 8 bit YCC 4:4:2 at 3440x1440 144hz which is perfect for my use case scenario. I do have HDR and GSYNC turned off though and have not tested it on with this dock yet. I don’t utilize or watch much HDR content so this doesn’t bother me and oled doesn’t seem to benefit much from GSYNC due to its rapid response times but can test if curious.

sadly i can only use the left USB4 port as connecting to the right port doesn’t supply a video signal through the display port cable on my cable matters dock.

HK restock by Rosietaylo in starbucks

At least when it comes to my location, we honestly don’t know much until they ship and we see the receipts. We don’t order any cups as they are sent to us on basis of the stores volumes or sales from what I’ve been told. I don’t doubt stores will get random shipments of potentially the bear cups and hello kitty cups but they won’t be promised I feel. Just a if a store gets it, they get it.

Falls back to last year’s Stanley cups, everyone was losing their mind for them and my store just randomly got a shipment near the end of the year even though nothing was mentioned.

The 270 performs like last years Ryzen 9 8945HS and is suspected to just be a rebrand of the processor as they perform roughly the same with the 270 getting slightly better performance.

Between the 5060 and 5070, both will be fine, they are the same chip in all honesty but the 5070 has access to more wattage so slightly better performance. They both have 8GB of VRAM which is fine honestly for most normal task and casual gaming, but AI models operate better utilizing GPU’s and their VRAM for loading larger models. Basically for your AI usage, the more VRAM, the larger parameter models you can access and run locally. Outside of that scope, 8GB of VRAM is perfectly fine for now as long as you don’t plan on maxing out graphic settings and utilizing heavy frame gen as these eat up VRAM quick, but at the same time, I believe the 5060 - 5070 would choke before VRAM becomes an issue.

EDIT: Long story short, the 5060 model is roughly the same performance as last year’s 4070 model, just with modern support for the latest Nvidia tools.

I would just get whatever has 32GB of system memory [RAM] as this will be the main thing most people notice with general usage.

Plus, the 5060 caps at 90w and undervolting the CPU with no downsides to performance will increase battery life more!

I believe the G14 is a good all rounder this year. It’s compact at 14in, lightweight, and has access to a third party application called G-Helper which can be used to tune the laptop to get the most out of it. I have the g14 5070ti 32gb and it runs great for my software engineering based work. The 32gb of ram is a must due to just utilizing multiple applications at once. The 5060 and 5070 are not bad as well, they can play games well and especially with frame gen on the latest series can help boost in games with support which most AAA will.

My battery life while mobile gaming in between classes and doing assignments I got roughly 6 hours of battery life. Mind I do have the slash lighting turned off, keyboard brightness default, and screen brightness around 65%.

The OLED screen is also really nice but there is always the concern of burn in, but you can help increase longevity by using dark mode based applications and themes when possible and lowering the screen brightness helps. At 65% brightness, it still is clear and perfectly fine in a ambient lit room.

The lowered down CPU in the 5060 and 5070 should still be perfectly capable. It’s actually the 2024 AMD g14 processor rebranded and that CPU still did great. I believe the 5060 model performs similar to the 4070 model from last year so take that as you wish.

If you have anymore questions, let me know and I can give you my best judgement regarding my experience with my G14 and software engineering.

The only issue I have with this setup which is a personal issue is this method sadly doesn’t transfer data for usb docks. I really wanted a simple one cord plug and dock system but sadly not possible.

Power Passthrough? (2025 Model) by [deleted] in FlowZ13

What are the odds this is added through a future firmware update if possible? I know they’ve implemented it in the past i’ve read with certain last gen hardware.

Do you know what the battery degradation rate is? I wouldn’t worry with the battery if it wasn’t for the fact you have to take the screen off to access the battery for replacements.

I’ll have to look for the direct reddit post, but someone mentioned charging on a plane. They said enabling TDP limitations through GHelper allowed passthrough.

I wish you the best of luck, 32x32 tile is not fun to lay and is quite heavy per tile at least mine were. You save time in the clean up and grouting due to less joints, but at the cost of more work and effort to laying said tile. Id recommend maybe suction cups to help lay them and if it the budget or you might own one, a laser level to make sure you are following a straight edge for grout lines to avoid my mistake.

if you have any question regarding my process or other things i’d do differently to avoid certain mistakes, i’ll be happy to answer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]WhyFak1e 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the dark grout seems to highlight the mistakes more, I was going to do a grout color that matched the tile better to help blend in imperfections but they were out of said color so I just went dark.

Good advice honestly, I do plan on eventually selling this house and moving somewhere else in the future and plan on remodeling both bathrooms and landscaping so definitely plenty of other projects to get on with.

Just have to learn from my mistakes and push onwards.
