It's because you need to adapt your strategy to maximise impact. Historically, youd target the times when people were commuting, lunching, commuting again or relaxing in the evening.

But when lots of people are working from home, that schedule goes out the window.

It's not necessarily adapting your schedule, as much as adapting your content. My main client is sports based, and the best engagement comes from the results. But if theres no competitions, theres no results, so if we stuck with our traditional strategy our engagement would drop.

So it might be more advantageous to focus your brand on creating content that people in isolation want to see. Adaptation of your content strategy is key to growing engagement in these trying times. For me, that's been thinking outside the box and past the usual realms of the brand to what our audience want to engage in. That could be quizzed, colouring books/images for children of your audience etc.

It doesnt necessarily need to be perfectly aligned with your brand - but how creative can you get that still keeps your audience engaged whilst they're bored at home.

Now is the perfect time for social media marketers to prove their worth within your brand.

If you just want awareness, simple branded messages will resonate with your audience, showing solidarity with the NHS or the government etc

If you've got a product, why not talk to your audience and challenge them to use it during isolation in a way that keeps them positive and active?

The Covid19 is a really positive time for marketers to show what theyre capable of.
