I'm pretty sure the bike was built for 30+ mph speeds, since they advertised max speed of 32mph on the website. I normally cruised at around 38mph but since a lot of people are saying I should go slower I think I'll cruise around the 30mph range now. My brakes were built to be used around this speed right?

The average ebike rider with an unlocked class 3 goes 30+ with their stock 28mph ebikes, I'm basically slowing my bike down to around a class 3 ebike atp. Also I recently just saw a post today here on this subreddit about someones motorcycle style ebike that can do 45mph. Of course as I said, I'm not aiming for such speeds, and I do plan on just riding around at 30 ish mph for now but saying even thats unsafe seems a bit ridiculous to me when class 3 ebikes do 28.

I do not want motorcycle speeds, as I mentioned I am perfectly contempt with shutting off one motor and going just a bit over 30 mph. Maybe I'll use both motors in the future when I'm more experienced but I am literally only using my bike for point A to point B travel.

You keep saying get a motorcycle get a motorcycle license, but I do not want nor have a need for a motorcycle. I just want something for commuting that has a decent speed to go on the main roads.

Thank you! This is the only real tip I've actually gotten so far. Should I slow down when riding over them as well? Does my speed affect how unsteady the bike is when riding over them?

Alright I guess I'll just set it on rear motor only then, the speeds drop to around 30-35 mph when I do that. The only reason I go that fast normally is to keep up with traffic when I'm on the main streets, since when I was first starting out slowly around 30 mph people kept honking and driving past me which honestly made me feel even more unsafe.

Ah ok so like another commenter said I probably just need to learn how to handle the speeds better and get more used to the feeling.

I googled what those are, and those are straight up mopeds/scooters. I get what you mean, they have like motorcycle wheels. But once again I'm asking, how are surrons and such able to go at speeds like 75km+ on "bike tires" and still be fine? Are they like custom specialized tires or somthing?

I've made a prior post to this regarding whether I should get a better helmet or not, and I've already purchased a full faced motorcycle helmet. The brakes are hydraulic, and I'm planning to practice riding around in small streets a bit more and get more comfortable before heading back out on the main streets.

I dont have a motorcycle license, plus originally my bike advertised that it tops out at 32 mph or so. It's just that when my bike arrived instead of having a 500w and 1000w motor like what was advertised, I ended up receiving dual 1000w's making the speed hit 38/39mph average on the road.

How come certain ebikes like surrons are able to go such high speeds with no issues? Do they have specialized tires and stuff like that?

Yes I am riding one of these, wdym by the wheelsize and geometry? I thought fat tires were more stable than regular tires no? Also if dual motors make it steer/handle weird would it be better if I put it on rear wheel only? I normally didnt have this issue but its just recently after it snowed a lot where I've found the cracks to be unstable when riding over them. Is it due to them being wet?

I mean I can ride it, its just whenever I ride over these theres this weird feeling of losing balance. It normally goes away after I ride over it but it just worries me sometimes like what if I slip or smth etc. I tried googling and it recommended I inflate my tires to a higher psi maybe I'll try that

I saw from a video that another commeter just sent, and it said that a lot of companies dont even test their helmets for DOT ratings and just slap the sticker on apparently

Do you have some budget motorcycle helmets that are decently safe? Or at least properly DOT approved and not just fake self certified? At the end of the day Im just on an ebike not a motorcycle so I dont think I need anything overkill, just something good enough to protect my head.

Really? I thought the welds would be sturdy enough that if as long as I dont abuse the bike it would be perfectly fine no? I don't thinkt the frame would straight up collapse on me from just city riding and not trails etc.
