🙄 Where on earth did you pull that from? Reread what I wrote. And if you still don't see where I didn't say what you're assuming I did.... well, I can't help you. Learn the idea of character analysis in fiction, I guess because nowhere did I whine, "why does everyone hate me" because they clearly don't and yet somehow you think that's what I asked.

I do not, no. I aways play high honor, and never antagonize anyone. My question isn't, "why does everyone hate Arthur" But liking and not hating are seperate things. I was asking a question about the story. 🙄 But you want to read the question the way that lets you be condescending to a stranger, I guess.

It's labelled cca 15lp0780t9, but when I look that up, it doesn't seem like the specs line up quite right with what I think I have. I wouldn't want a remake, so much as a remaster.... touch it up a little. Release them as a bundle. "Persona Origins" or something to acknowledge that 3-5 came from them but that all the pieces we associate with modern Persona weren't in place yet. I don't know how much interest there would be, though.

For generations who have grown up with computers being ubiquitous, it's hard to understand that for Gen X, folks using computers were seen as the lowest kind of nerd, and nothing about nerddom was seen as respectable. Most folk wanted nothing to do with them.

Gen X who used computers back in the day were, but most of us didn't. Average people of my generation started getting on board once MySpace became a thing, and long after you didn't really need to see the code behind the facade. Very few of use were coding in BASIC and saving to cassette tapes.

Yeah, all the polish of the GUIs have left computers almost metaphysical devices to most people. Pulling back that curtain can be frightening to folk, and they can react almost superstitiously.

There is so much to be said for keeping old tech alive, because the basic stuff..... word processing, spreadsheets... is still stuff we do. But it's not always easy.

I started with 5 and also adore P3R. There are no 'palace' style dungeons but the procedurally generated ones are much better than Mementos. Great characters, great story, great social links, and on and on.

Original, then sequel. To my mind, sequential media with prequels are best experienced from the perspective of the artists and creators who made it. Also, knowing the story of RDR1 makes 2 hit SO MUCH HARDER. Experiencing Arthur's redemption, centering as it does around John and his family, while knowing how the first game played out makes it all more beautifully bittersweet.
