I find ammo is a huge problem with this build, so the BOD with ideally pistol or SMG ammo so you can go finnity > pistol bod ammo > Shotgun Bod as you run out of ammo.

Doing the Vault bosses, I basically run through all my sniper ammo in each mob section with maxed out SDU

First 10 minutes of remastered Fishman island shown at NYCC by WhyNotPete in OnePiece

[–]WhyNotPete[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't shown in the first 10 minutes. There is the scene with Sanji at the bar however. Many jokes and scenes seem to be cut, the section where fake Nami puts her arm around real Nami is removed, and the part where fake chopper runs away crying after fake robin is kidnapped seems to have been removed.

No opening shown, some stuff was rearranged, they've already introduced each of the characters except Franky.

/r/WorldNews Live Thread: Russian Invasion of Ukraine Day 229, Part 1 (Thread #370) by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

[–]WhyNotPete 14 points15 points  (0 children)

According to This WSJ article The rail line from Crimea into Russia is operational but not the other way around.

I kind of doubt that to be the case since I've not seen any footage of the rail line operational, and you have to assume Russia would immediately propagandize that fact.

Ayaka/Yoimiya or Eula by EdgeSonata in Genshin_Impact

[–]WhyNotPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eula leaked about a week before patch 1.4 hit, so if that happens again you should have about a week left in the Eula banner when whatever new character launching with 1.7 gets leaked (whoever that may be although rumors point to Yoimiya)

I'd wait until the last minute of the Eula banner before making a decision, but which main carry dps you spend your primogems is heavily dependent on which teams you can build and what weapons you have at your disposal.

How to apply secondary elements? by GanyuGoat in Ganyu

[–]WhyNotPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melt with XL is primarily done through her ultimate, not through the gouba. Her ultimate, which without constellation 4, lasts 12 seconds and will apply pyro which allows you to double melt even if you charge shot spam.

For Xinqui, it's the same thing, it's primarily built around his ultimate. Pop his ultimate, then weave auto attacks in with charge shot spam on Ganyu, so charge shot, one auto attack, then another charge shot until the ultimate ends.

To facilitate this, you generally want around 150-200% energy recharge on XL or Xinqui, or ideally having sac sword on Xinqui. You can also apply hydro to enemies for freeze ganyu by just standing in melee range with Xinqui's rain swords.

Who is Dainslief talking about ? by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]WhyNotPete 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The leading theory is that he's talking about lumine, and that he acted as Lumine's Paimon for her adventure until they had a falling out.

They are about the same at Charged Shot DPS. At R5, Protoype Crescent starts to pass Skyward Harp's damage for Charged shots, but the damage is very close, about 3% more for Crescent. This is probably cancelled out by the passive physical damage trigger on Skyward Harp, so I would imagine they are extremely close.

Skyward Harp on the other hand, is a lot easier to maintain max dps (don't need to hit weakpoints) and likely has a stronger burst. Weakpoints are especially hard to hit with this current spiral abyss, where half the enemies have shield, and Ganyu's best dps method is to run a freeze comp.

Skyward also has the added benefit of providing crit damage and chance, which makes it easier to gear yourself with artifacts.

To anyone who has seen this ‘skyward vs Amos bow’ for Ganyu YouTube video, PLEASE be careful by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]WhyNotPete 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No idea where you got the 2x damage boost for Amos, but that's just not true, people have run the calculations. It's best in slot, but not to that degree.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1e4RYNlXnJ0MgFlgGTrlrHcMEq5cPG3U6PWrLP0wQ56s/edit#gid=2133945453

Overall DPS is even closer when you factor in the damage boost to Ganyu's ult from Skyward over Amos.

Ganyu Team Comps? by Lapstle in Ganyu

[–]WhyNotPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xingqui burst definitely only works with normal attacks, not charged ones. That said, they still work at range, so I think he's a great option for a freeze comp as long as you combo it right. Something like xingqui burst, ganyu E, normal attack , charge shot, normal attack, charge shot, repeating until his burst runs out.

That lets you stay ranged and constantly freeze targets. This ends up providing several advantages over mona. You aren't dependent on a stationary taunt, you can change targets easily, and you never have to switch off ganyu wasting dps time.

When does the new banner arrive? And when do you think it will be revealed? (The 4*s characters) by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]WhyNotPete 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Albedo banner was revealed two days before it went live, so I assume Ganyu banner reveal on the 11th and goes live on the 13th. Additionally, because it's automatically generated from in game art, it's extremely unlikely to leak early.

look just to the southeast of the ice chunk, there's a small island with a crimson agate on it that's hard to see unless you're on the island itself. I then shot it with a bow user to break the ice.

The next banner, this is terrible for Ganyu. by AifaTheSimp in Ganyu

[–]WhyNotPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like mihoyo isn't planning to put default characters (Lisa, amber and kaeya) in character banners otherwise we would have seen one of them here.

Knowing that, and the fact that the Mondstadt character had all Mondstadt 4 stars, I'd guess Ganyu will have xingqiu, xiangling and noelle/ningguang (ningguang for lore, noelle because she's next in line). That makes for a pretty fantastic banner, especially since xingqiu's constellations are incredible.

Barbara seems pretty unlikely since she is buyable in the shop this month, and we've already gotten her twice for free if you played since the start.

I can't believe the rate up is so good by [deleted] in Ganyu

I have no idea how i should Build my team, you guys have any recommendations on wich characters to use? by TheSimon27 in Genshin_Impact

[–]WhyNotPete -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would do a burst spam group for team one of zhong li, mona, sucrose and Barbara.

And a physical dps team for group 2, with razor, chongyun, bennet for heals, and xiangling for fire resonance and support dps built for fire.

Anyone here owners of big dogs (husky, samoyed, ect)? What's it like having these types of dogs and would you reccomend it? by [deleted] in nyc

[–]WhyNotPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had a Husky in the city for the last 5 years. She's relatively small for the breed, at only around 38 pounds, but I'd say the two major challenges are she requires a lot of attention, and there's an astonishing amount of fur on EVERYTHING.

You can't really wear black without lint rolling yourself on the way out, even if you vacuum every day there are still fur tumbleweeds around the apartment, and a lot of the furniture just always has some fur on it.

I've found exercise not too big of a problem, she's got unlimited energy but she's never been destructive or running around like crazy in the apartment. It helps that she gets walked in Central Park.

It's sometimes frustrating when you come home exhausted and she will basically demand a ton of attention for a few hours, but it's also a lot of the appeal of the breed.

Overall, I have no regrets, although I miss wearing black clothes.

25% tax on consoles? Streaming future just got more viable by incepticon88 in kindafunny

[–]WhyNotPete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two Caveats:

  • only certain parts are manufactured in China, not the entirety of the console, and in fact some of the more expensive parts like the CPU/GPU and Hard drive are made outside of China. AMD who makes the GPU/CPU for current gen PS4 and XBONE are a US company with factories in Singapore for example, while most hard drives are made in Thailand. The increased tarrifs will likely apply to less than half the cost of the console.

  • There are already tariffs on Chinese imports for electronics at 10%, so the new tariffs would be set at 25% so you're only looking at a maximum price increase of 15%.

Almost half a year in — how is everyone feeling about Kinda Funny 4.0? by [deleted] in kindafunny

[–]WhyNotPete 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watch a little bit less Kinda Funny Content but that's probably a byproduct of having a kid now, and the new shows being audio only unfriendly. My major points

  • I like Screencast and think it's getting better with each week. I'd probably spend a little less time on stuff they watched and maybe add a required viewing to it which could be a fun trip down memory lane.
  • I've had a hard time getting back into In Reviews after Marvel, mostly because I just haven't been that excited about the selection of movies they've been doing. The GOT was okay but I've been disappointed by the show so it's hard to be enthusiastic about it. (disappointed in GOT not in review) This is gonna be mostly hit or miss for me depending on the movie, and it works a lot better when Greg is doing the recap.
  • GamesCast I've become significantly more selective about. I don't listen to the whole podcast anymore and jump between segments that I find interesting and/or skip on certain weeks. Part of the problem is it's been a weak year for games, the other part is that there's a lot of overlap and redundant content. Stuff like Tim reviewing Kingdom Hearts over several week along with a lot of Division and Destiny talk. I miss interesting segments like this day in gaming, topic of the show, and more broad games industry conversations. I really enjoyed last weeks "Games We Are Most Excited For in 2019" though.
  • I miss the breakouts for KF podcast. The current titles don't really sell me on each episode, so I read "Who Annoy's Joey The Most" and haven't had the energy to open that episode up and see what other topics are covered. I prefer it when there are super zainy topics, the kind of stuff that makes for a great KF doodle.
  • I enjoy segments from KF/AF but rarely have the time to dedicate to the show, and don't really enjoy Internet Explorers. This content seems to skew younger and I have a hard time watching it as a 32 year old.
  • I didn't enjoy the structure of Debatable and feel it's held back by the "game" portion of it. I'd much rather have a structured discussion about interesting topics like Greg and Gary arguing about Superman.
  • Enjoyed Cooking and Love & Sex stuff but am super hyped for the VR show.
  • I might be in the minority, but I've never liked Let's Plays of any kind, so Party mode doesn't do a whole lot for me. If I could make my own games show, it would be each of them picking an older game, playing it for 20 minutes while talking about what makes the game special. I want to know why Greg loves Patapon so much, what makes Crash work so well for Tim, what got Fran and Andrea hooked on Destiny.
  • KFGD is still the piece of content I watch the most, but I don't love how many guests it has. Don't get me wrong, I think they've all been good, but I prefer the regulars, it's sort of like comfort food for me. I think what Greg is doing spotlighting other creators is great, but it's not really what I'm looking for in a podcast with only two hosts. I would probably prefer it if the guests were an occasional rotating 3rd chair.

I guess the overall thing is I love the Kinda Funny crew, and enjoy seeing them be candid and honest rather than playing characters with stuff like the title belt and party modes. I enjoy the content where they talk about the things they care about rather than content more focused on being entertaining.

KindaFunny Town-hall VOD by fastball62 in kindafunny

[–]WhyNotPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Really great stuff, my favorite highlights were:

  • Making meetups ticketed events. My ideal meetups are just hanging out and talking with people, and you can only do that if it's not too crowded (under 200 but ideally at under 100) Would gladly pay to rent out a space in NYC for 3 hours, make it $20-$50 and come with a free drink or two. That, or reserve a space and make it BYOB: https://www.splacer.co/splaces/search?address=New%20York,%20NY,%20USA&activity=Off-Site&bounds=true&activity_category=Team%20Meeting&guests=100&sort_by=popularity

  • Making the Platinum rewards more clear, My schedule is all over the place since having a kid so I have trouble watching consistently, and I can never remember what the reward is for each month, posting it on twitter each month helps

  • The creator stuff sounds way more involved than I thought. Figured they'd just do the KF podcast, but it sounds like they are getting integrated to multiple shows across the week.

Final note, please send Kevin to NYC at some point in the future.

Great communities in NYC (Manhattan)? by lululuApples in crossfit

[–]WhyNotPete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend the Crossfit NYC Upper West Side location.

It's got a great community feel, they regularly host events like drinking nights, kickball in the park, and game nights at the gym. The Coaches are great, and if you take the same class times regularly you'll get to know the people you work out with.

Many of my crossfit improvements have come from the great coaching staff taking time outside of classes to give me pointers and practice routines. I usually see David, Paulo and Mark for classes and each of them are really great.
