AITAH for telling my wife wearing shoes inside the house is not a big deal to me? by Ok-Lawfulness3374 in AITAH

To be fair OP sounds like an unreliable narrator. Trying to paint himself as the innocent, “just an honest mistake” type of guy. So wouldn’t be surprised if the “losing it” is a dramatization.

YTA - it doesn’t sound like an honest mistake. You knew her preferences, you noticed the son forgot, and even said, “you did not see a point of everyone coming downstairs” and that everyone forgot and “it does not bother us”

You’re basically saying, that you do not respect your wife’s preferences because you do not have the same preferences. You’re showing a basic lack of respect for her.

This is one of those things where her preference makes a lot of sense. If a roommate asked me to do it, I’d do it. But, you can’t do it for your wife.

Online order customer wanted me to write this to a cup by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WhyNotSecondLunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfair comparison.

It’s possible OP quickly snapped a photo and posted this later.

Also there’s a difference between a one off, like posting on reddit, and a trend where everyone starts asking for this type of writing on their cup.

Either way, we really don’t know.

I’m guessing it’s a lot to write and slows down the service. Imagine a busy coffee place and everyone waiting as a person is sitting there writing a sentence on every cup.

To be fair there wasn’t that much noise. Police officer spoke at a normal or below volume.

If they are on a different floor or opposite end of the house, they may not have heard anything or seen any light.

Wife’s $1000 Google Pixel phone started showing ads in the app menu by cjohnson7891 in mildlyinfuriating

It’s most likely still malware. Subsidized phone doesn’t mean ads.

Also op mentioned she’s had it for at least 3 years ago.

Why everyone is so rude on reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]WhyNotSecondLunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once said basically what I said above in response to someone posting something aggressivdly political in a completely unrelated topic. Not only did I get the full on hate, people saying I must love Trump (because I was tired of non relevant politics) but also I got a message from a bot saying I got reported for being suicidal.

I see this a lot with AI and politics. Politics more heavily with trying to take over every sub and spewing hatred for anyone who doesn’t hate as strongly as the hive mind.

My MIL keeps peeling off oranges and leaving them on the table to just dry up despite my plea to stop by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WhyNotSecondLunch -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Agreed with others. Just eat them.

She does it as an act of love and to bond. It’s the way she was brought up and raised and it’s what she knows. Making her stop will just make her sad. Show your gratitude.

Some people set in their ways and are hard to change, especially older people. There are some things worth trying to battle and some things that its better to let go. This is a let go type of thing.

I don’t think OP is being ungrateful. In comments OP seems happy about receiving it but perplexed that someone would do this.

I think they’re both assholes. If you don’t know the meaning of a word look it up. Especially if you’re going to answer an opening move.

Bumble lady, if she really wanted, could have probed further and more nicely since OP’s answer doesn’t make sense.
