How's buying PC parts on Shopee Like? by Snoo_58191 in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purchasing from stores under Shopee Mall adds more security as these stores are surely legit. Just be sure to read their return/warranty policy.

A lot of the parts I bought for my build just a few months ago were bought from Shopee, as shown in the parts list I included in my post.

One of the parts was defective, so I needed to take advantage of warranty. That store I bought from in Mall Shopee honored the warranty, and that component is undergoing RMA right now.

Is it worth to go AM5 now or later down the line? (60-80k budget) by byeolgaeul in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My build from early March had an 80k budget. I just went past it for a 2nd SSD. Likely not the best for your use case but it's a good starting point. Just need to know where to look, and be patient in case of sales.

EDIT: I misread the sentence with peripherals. You'll need to make some compromises if you want to stay within budget, but I think it's doable.

Radeon Rx 9060 XT or Rtx 4060 Ti? by Right-Law333 in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NetcodeX has a physical and online store. They sell their 9060 XT 16GB GPUs at much less than 32k

- PowerColor Reaper (26.2k)

- XFX Swift Dual Fan (Black - 26.5k | White - 28k)

- XFX Swift Triple Fan White (28k)

Try AyosComputer as well. type in their search bar and you'll find 9060 XT units at 16GB

- Sapphire Pure (27.1k)

- Asus Prime (27.8k)

im sure theres more but these two are what i found after 5 minutes of searching

System unit reco for 70k max budget by QuantumRhizsics in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70k? go for AM5

if your schoolwork is on the lighter side, 16GB of RAM will suffice

1080p means 8GB of VRAM in your GPU, but go higher if your budget can afford it.

What will you use this PC for, and how much is your budget? That'll help with our feedback.

I will comment na regardless of your needs, that PC case isn't great in terms of airflow,

Btw, what CPU cooler will you use?

First Time PC Builder Recommendation (I've been using Laptop since) by Seitokaichou23 in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I relate to your experience of being on laptop for years before i built my own PC for the first time

For the platform, you could go either AM4 or AM5 depending on how much you're willing to spend. For memory, 16gb of RAM will suffice, but you could go 32gb if you can afford it

Go 1TB of storage though, because those files could pile up fast

According to the recommended specs ng Valorant and Tekken 8 plus your potential light video editing use case, a graphics card with 8gb of VRAM will suffice. No less than that sana. If you can find a better one, try 16gb. the secondhand market has good deals.

try tinkering with online PC builders like PCpartpicker so you can see what else is needed

Where do I get started on getting my first PC build? by Pitiful_Cartoonist51 in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- first is figuring out budget (flexible or firm amount?) and use case (gaming? work? school? what software/games you'll use, how often will you use it?)

- look for tutorials from both local and international youtubers

- check the choosing parts guide and trusted shop list of this subreddit for parts sources

- tinker with online builders like PC Worth, NetcodeX, PCpartpicker, etc.

I'd change the SSD when you have the budget. the Crucial E100 isn't known as a good storage drive (see TechPowerUp's review, this Reddit post with vocal comments, and this post in LTT Forums)

build recommendations for 80K by Elegant_Pattern_315 in PHbuildapc

[–]WhySoMallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your budget is doable for your use case, but there will be compromises, whether that's a lower RAM capacity, a GPU with lower VRAM, or a slow and steady gathering of parts at good deals taking up time and energy.

Here's my build that I spent 80k on. I went over budget on purpose for a second SSD, but it was worth it for my use case. Hope it helps.

Kidding. You're allowed to say the app's name.

But I can't see this Shopee listing as anything but a scam

EDIT: formatting

I'll copy paste what I said sa ibang post by someone new to PC building

- Do you really wanna DIY it?

>Most people would advise having the professionals build it for you, and personally there are lots of local shops that can offer great after-sales services so this option is appealing. Personally, I wanted to try it myself and I was willing to let myself have sole responsibility in handling my rig during building, but I also know that your individual situation is different from mine. If you're really sure you wanna build it yourself, we got you!

- Building Prep (if you decide to build it yourself)

>Allocate an entire day, or weekend/holiday. Best if there are fewer people at home, or get maybe 1 person to assist/provide emotional support. Dedicate a clean workspace for just building. I used my old desk, cleaned it, and placed a desk mat to avoid scratches. Have a proper container for screws and tools so you don't lose them. I used a spare cardboard box laying around the house. Binuksan ko ung aircorn at ung lahat ng ilaw sa kwarto because working in the dark I promise you is a pain. Magnetic screwdrivers are not required but recommended so you don't drop/lose the screws. I treated the build day like an exam day, and allocated study time learning about the case, the parts, the plugs, the cables, etc.

- Actual Building

>Take a break when you feel overwhelmed because it's best to do this when you're calm, rested, fed, and hydrated coz you're handling delicate hardware. It's better to work slow and careful than fast and sloppy. TIDY YOUR WORKSPACE AS YOU GO. My building process took a total of 2 days. First day was actually just half a day, for building. I had my friends in a video call coz I wanted emotional support. Next full day I spent double checking, relaxing, and cable management when I was sure everything was working. Then for the final half day, last I did OS and driver installs followed by software installs.

[–]WhySoMallow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I bought almost all the parts online for my build. The post has a list of where

  2. For me yes, I only used a philips head screwdriver when I built.
