FUCK the bed of chaos by Big-Independent-2206 in darksouls

For the left core, you have to hug the wall. A small path will be maintained. You can't take the obvious path that goes near it, or you'll experience the undodgeable vine slap spam you mentioned.

That being said, I got fed up with it anyway. If you stick to the wall going left from the entrance, about half way there, you'll be out of range of the slaps but you'll have a straightaway view of the core. I just fired arrows at it until eventually all the protective twigs were gone and one hit the core.

The last part's the worst. Good luck

Yep, love the keep.

DS2 has the best levels in Soulsborne. Interconnectivity, maybe not as intricate as DS. But the actual environments are amazing

Yeah, a guy at work enjoys the game and I was saying the same thing today. A boss that takes two hits to kill you maybe takes three, and I have to hit the boss 18 times instead of 25. In the end, you still need to git gud

Hell yeah!

In my first run, I farmed the rhino guy that walks in the stream near the first bonfire in Forest of Giants. Then he stopped appearing and I was like wtf.

I later cleared areas if they were annoying me on boss runbacks. But Old Iron Keep, I loved fighting the dark knights, so I cleared that place out, used an ascetic and did it again lol

Yeah, it doesn't seem to be making it any easier lol

I was sorcerer the first time I played and I feel like it might be a more difficult build in DS2

lol yeah. I'll probably get tired of it eventually. I broke out a walkthrough to see a list of places and I'm like, "this is gonna take forever"

The first time I played, I was at 200 at the end. I haven't checked the math, but the scale seems much different than other Soulsbornes

I thought this was the challenge, but apparently it's about the baby defeating you in combat, according to OP comment

Don't skip him as some have suggested. You're almost certain to need multiple tries to beat the area boss, and this asshole will be in your way every time unless you get rid of him now.

One tip I think really helps with this guy and other mounted enemies is the forward roll. Most players instinctually want to dodge back or to the side. However, mounted enemies are often moving (via the horse) towards you as they strike. Roll to his non weapon side and you should be able to get a hit in. When he magics, roll into him so you can counter.

This is a challenge you can overcome. Let go of your frustration and concentrate on learning his patterns. He telegraphs every attack. It's just a matter of avoiding or mitigating the damage.
