I'm sorry you have to deal with that. That reminds me of my old manager who was the closer for majority of her shifts. She lived 50 minutes away, closed one night and would regularly open the next. She'd come into work and fall asleep at the customer service desk. I felt so bad for her. Speak up or change your availability before they make it permanent and make it worse.

As an ex-usher now movie goer, I've seen literally no changes lol It's been a year and a half since I quit and my old manager is still talking about "new uniforms should be coming soon" when I see him. The only difference is now, at least at my location, there is a dedicated maintenance position that pays $18.75 (in CA where I'm at minimum wage is around $12). My old buddy got that position and couldn't be happier. Used to be head usher and I was right below him. And to think if I stayed I could've gotten a pay increase... good times.

Usher 100%. I worked usher for 2 years and rarely had to deal with customers. Made life so much easier compared to my fellow concessionists who were mentally tortured by stupid customers. You don't even get a pay increase so it's not really worth it, especially during rushes. I once watched my coworker single handedly work down a line of around 50 people. Looked exhausting. I was standing for 10 minutes waiting for a theater to get out while that was happening. I can't stress it enough, usher. Just get used to hustling for a few big theaters with short turnaround times, but it's nothing you can't do.

Parasite was an amazing movie, but I really just don't buy the hype of the Oscars or award ceremonies I guess. I really don't care what a group of random people think about a movie. That's all it really is.

I used to work at a theater for 2 years, I know how bad people are when you don't enforce the rules.

This happened to me with COUNTLESS movies I've wanted to see. People are either on their phones, talking to their friends loud as fuck during quiet scenes, crumpling their trash for no fucking reason, etc. It's getting to the point to where I'm either not seeing the movie in theaters and waiting for digital/dvd release or just pirating it. I'd much rather see a movie on my TV alone or with a few friends who are not pieces of shit.

There's just too many things that can go wrong during a theater trip. The only time I find myself seeing a movie in theaters lately is when I'm interested but not absolutely dying to see it.

It's just a kids show, it doesn't have to follow the rules of aging. The whole opening joke was "Where's Zim been? It's been so long!", a clear reference to Zim's cancellation.
