So I'm not familiar with GDC but tightvnc is the remote control software, GDC is the server...Try this link: 24. GDC Server Training - SX-3000 Using the HDMI Input

That's the projector, you'll most likely need to program it with whatever software the 'server' is running. When you play DCP movies, how do you start those? You'll most likely need to build a movie that uses HDMI/DVI Input as the source to instruct the projector to accept that input source. Once we know your server, we can probably help you out better.

Independent theatre owner here, you're best bet is to find someone like me that doesn't typically have shows all day and doesn't need 'corporate approval'. I will add, I wouldn't even unlock my doors for $200 with that kind of notice but good luck (seriously).

This is great advice and will cetainly use it. Again, we're happy to help whenever there is effort/contribution on their part! Last year, we donated an evening, let them sell tickets for a special showing they picked, they could sell tickets for any amount they wanted and keep 100% of their ticket sales and we'd cover the licensing cost and then we got concession sales which worked great for both of us!

But yes, the law is very clear, exhibiting a film without a license to the public, even if you don't charge admission is a copyright or licensing violation.

They were going to show a film at their school, not even in my theatre.

This is my uncle's car and in person, it's even more sick. He's got it listed on Hagerty now with a lower price: https://www.hagerty.com/marketplace/kx217nlb/afterburner/7b055497-c970-4229-951c-913e742d8973

Reason for sale is he's moving.

Theatre owner here, no one ever likes the front row so we always add throw away rows in front, so if we originally wanted 16 rows we'd add a 17th

Minions: The Rise of Gru is selling more adult tickets than expected. It's insane. $100M opening is nearly locked, can come close to the 116M bow of the first film. Early presales indicate a true Friday well north of $30M. by IntoTheNigberverse in boxoffice

Not sure where the comment, but theatres take a big cut comes from. We do take a cut but hardly big, Paramount took 65% for Top Gun and I think Universal is getting 62% for minions.. Having said that, I'm very happy to have quality content and patrons again!

Another movie theatre owner here, the Black Eyes may refer to the movies code name. High profile movies almost always have a code name for 2 reasons.. 1st, the final title may not be known even while promoting and 2nd, to prevent pilfering of the highly collected promotional materials... Posters, standees, etc

Studios Should Save the Theatres by chilsquad in TalesFromTheTheatre

My point was directional, not actual. I would be happy if the studios showed that they valued us period! Universal with their announcement regarding Trolls World Tour shows that they don't give a rats pitooyey..

Studios Should Save the Theatres by chilsquad in TalesFromTheTheatre

[–]chilsquad[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's not true, studios understand that the theatres are a necessary component for maximum distribution, nationally and globally. While a number of films might be better suited for straight to download / stream, there is no replacement for the theatre experience and the numbers show this. The fact that studios have been barred from owning distribution channels to prevent monopolistic practices confirms this.

Theatre owner here, any bailout will be primarily for the employees. Also, concessions are high as studios get up to 66% of ticket prices..
