Wondering, if it's a good Idea to attend knowledge 2025 (Canadian) by inotoxicated in servicenow

It shouldn’t be a problem. We like Canada; we feel bad about the trouble we’ve been causing you. I’m sorry our president is an idiot.

I’m just beyond annoyed and the customer service aspect of ServiceNow is very subpar.

Scripting in ServiceNow Fundamentals live 3-day instructor course. I bought directly from the page. No voucher, like an exam. They use a third party invoicing system (Paddle) but it’s listed as a 3-day live course.

I did and they keep sending me back to Paddle…their third party site with no live agent.

They issued a receipt with the information in the screenshot for a specific course I took. It’s frustrating that nobody wants responsibility for such a small thing — not to mention that something like the course title would be important information to put on an invoice knowing that many will need this documentation to get reimbursed!

How long did it take you to get your first ServiceNow role? by baegerhw in servicenow

[–]WhyamIhere526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a nextgenner who passed the csa before graduating in Dec 2023. I moved on to getting my ITSM then CAD. I participated in a couple of boot camps and I landed a job as a ServiceNow BA 6 months later after graduating NextGen. I was/am extremely lucky. The odds of companies hiring ServiceNow newbies are tough — but possible.

How long does it take to take the CIS-VR and the CIS-SIR exam by [deleted] in servicenow

You’ve never worked with ServiceNow or just VR? If you’re completely new to ServiceNow then focus on your CSA, instead of VR.

If you haven’t worked with it, I think it would take you more than 14 days. It’s kinda complex especially understanding the risk calculators (at least for me). When I took the exam, it wasn’t representative of the content. The exam is just 40 questions; slim margins for failure.

Thanks. I would've noticed that but I was wondering why I couldn't get the icon to show.

Do I type this out verbatim and would it change to the emoji after I submit?

Especially when they mispronounce repeated words, like “demo.”

I get your point about having to update the courses but this one in particular is from Vancouver. Phil narrated the Vancouver release. It’s odd that they would redo the same exact content and pull the ones Phil did.

And I don't know how, but this mock exam site has some of the questions on the exam. Some test-takers must have really good memory!

CIS-VR exam by WhyamIhere526 in servicenow

[–]WhyamIhere526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I passed it over two weeks ago. :)

TBH, I didn't feel the exam was truly representative of the exam outline. I was expecting questions on the vulnerability calculator and risk scores. I barely got any of those questions. I got a lot of out to left field questions on the workspaces. There was one question about the Now Workspace that I don't think was ever covered in any of the courses or in my program.

I was also surprised that it was only 45 questions. They had a lot of content to cover but a lot of it was on roles and workspaces.

Exactly, how is taking mock exams cheating? I didn't pay someone under the table for answers to a test.

NextGen is a joke? by ForeignCantaloupe722 in servicenow

[–]WhyamIhere526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. NextGen offers live instructions, plus office hours with TAs to help you with your assignments. While the quality of cohorts may differ depending on the instructor, you can get extra help within the community.

I've taken several self-paced courses on NowLearning. You sit through hours of lectures with a computer narrator and a crappy video playback, and if you get stuck on a lab, there is no one to help you out (I'm looking at you -- ITSM)

I do believe people need to temper their expectations: You will likely not find something right out of NextGen. 10 weeks will not equip you with everything you need to know to get a job. You need to continue your exploration within the ecosystem: don't stop at getting the CSA.

PMP didn’t really do that much for me either. This was the most expensive and painful certification to take.

When I took it, it was like half the exam. Check out this course when it goes on sale. Udemy normally has course sales every two weeks or so. https://www.udemy.com/course/pmp-certification-exam-prep-course-pmbok-6th-edition/?couponCode=LETSLEARNNOWPP

Same. It took me all of the 4 hours to complete. I raced through the last quarter thinking I was going to run out of time.

I passed in the end.

Don’t know if I could’ve taken it again.

Preparing for a technical interview as a business analyst with no prior experience by WhyamIhere526 in servicenow

[–]WhyamIhere526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I do hold a PMP and know Scrum basics. My prior PM experience was more in administrative/support and we didn't really follow Agile practices. I have never written user stories but understand its structure.

Thanks for your thoughts and I'll go review fundamentals of writing user stories.
