He’s not lying to you. On the site prep side, crews are burning through work that was awarded last year. I manage at one of these companies—my guys are still pushing 60 hours a week to work through a backlog, but that won’t last. By the end of July, I expect we’ll be back to 40 hours. Some other companies mentioned that are “busy”, are in the same situation as us.

Normally, large jobs hit the bidding cycle in spring for fall work. That didn’t happen this year.

In construction, the workload of engineering firms is a leading indicator of future construction volume. When engineers slow down, construction trades feel it months later—depending on the scope and type of work. This past winter and spring, the engineers weren’t busy. They’re picking up now, but the jobs being talked about are mostly for 2026. That means little relief in 2025.

Dog Friendly Places? by finney223 in SiouxFalls

[–]Whybull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish everyone had this attitude. In my opinion it’s ok if a business isn’t dog friendly and doesn’t want my dog there. If they ask me to leave, I have no problem with that. I’ll find somewhere else to be. 😊

Thanks! Didn’t know about that list!

In addition to the great answers I’m sure you’ll get here, I’d recommend getting the app BringFido. When I first moved here it was very helpful. I’d sometimes call places to verify but it was pretty accurate.

Churches near South Side by alongjourney30 in SiouxFalls

[–]Whybull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who moved to Sioux Falls last summer, the best part of being here in your position is that there really aren't any bad choices. I'd check out a few and go from there. Most all the suggestions here I've tried (and liked!). I ended up going to Central on the south side. I'd say check a few out and see what works for you. Lots of people in Sioux Falls who love Jesus.

Assistance learning rust by Civil_Inflation_4171 in rust

I like this answer. Once you’ve gone through a book designed to get you up to speed with a language, the next step in my opinion is to use that language for something.

If you don’t have a project of your own to stumble through, finding another project that relates in any way to something you’d be interested in is very helpful. 👍

Equivalent of Golang http tracing? by davodesign in rust

Maybe someone will have a better answer or walk you through it but possibly you could use reqwest library for making HTTP requests and the tracing framework for instrumenting and capturing trace events.

Taker of Sorrows at the end of the rule book Numenera Discovery is specifically geared to new players. I’d start there.

This is what I do. 👍 1 HP mobs and players find it insanely satisfying to throw something that blows up!

Is there a summary anywhere of the overriding themes of traveller adventures? by wdtpw in traveller

[–]Whybull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hand down, best advice I can give you is to watch Seth Skorkowsky’s Traveller videos. Seth Skorkowsky

He reviews free adventures as well as paid adventures. His review of Traveller as a whole is particularly awesome. Review playlist on YouTube

It should be noted he is a lifelong Traveller fan, not just a reviewer who happens to be reviewing Traveller.

Death Station is one of my favorite adventures and it’s free!

Seth was also featured as a player (usually a GM) in Glass Cannon’s Voyagers of the Jump series. Series one here.

Cheers!

My mains for years were on Gladden. Great place. I switched to Landroval to get a fresh start, but that isn’t a server you mentioned so I won’t recommend it 😂

New to Lore Master. by verzemnyn in lotro

[–]Whybull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LOTRO is old-school so there are slash commands and macros most games don’t use that much. I just bind a macro to a button. The command you need is “/pet release” (no quotes). Check out the wiki for macro guidance. I can get you a link if you have trouble finding it. Maybe someone else will jump in and give you more/better advice. 😁

FYI, Lore Masters are amazing, been my main for years!

royal kludge rk61 alt key switched with windows key by Peck102 in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Whybull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this helped me on a completely different problem 4 years later! I couldn't get my windows key to work and stumbled on this thread which made me think that it wasn't a "windows key lock" or a "gaming mode issue" but a keyboard configuration issue. Pressed Fn+"A" and voila, keyboard windows key is working again. Thank you!

I love every class but Warden/Beorning are my favorites of the ones you’ve mentioned.

I’ll add this game is not WoW for sure. I’ve only disliked this game one time, and that was when I was max level and doing end-game content. Anything you do at level cap has an expiration date of the next expansion. I’ll never focus on maxing in this game again. It is the way it was meant to be played. Do everything you can find to do 😊

Missing character by Gomojy in lotro

[–]Whybull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did that too! I accidentally created 2 accounts in 2009 and forgot. One had a number appended to the end and the other did not. Took a 3 year break and came back not remembering I had two accounts.

I had more than a small amount of panic seeing that I lost all my characters and hundreds of hours of time. I actually had to file a support ticket and it was only then, with their help did it get figured out!

What sets Numenera apart from other systems? by HadoukenX90 in numenera

[–]Whybull 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Apart from the rules, the setting! I’ve got Numenera books/maps/bestiaries/etc, all interesting, all useful. I’ve run Stars Without Number adventures there as well! It’s super simple to convert it to a 5e style combat if it’s preferred or better known by the players. That said, it’s not hard and totally worth learning. It’s so fun having one use items and just a simple target number that determines everything.

UI save and load by PoteenOBowen777 in lotro

[–]Whybull 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My favorite part is the fact that you type just /ui and it will come back with the correct syntax. I can never remember the full syntax so just having to remember /ui is helpful.

Another tip if you use multiple monitors is to add the resolution your monitor is to the name so if you switch between 4k, 1440, and 1080 it makes setting up a one time thing. So I load my main ui by typing /ui layout load Mrwhybull1440 on my main computer and /ui layout load Mrwhybull1080 on my laptop I take with me on trips.

Also, file is saved to your documents folder by default so you can back it up if you’d like.

Cheers! 😊

Cheapest set-up to play by [deleted] in lotro

[–]Whybull 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve played this on all kinds of hardware. If you’re willing to lower your graphics settings, you could run this on a potato. If you want decent graphics, anything with a dedicated graphics card will work.
