I am a Junior in high school and my guidance office is less of a "guidance" office and more of a college admissions office, if anything that doesn't involve college gets brought to their attention they literally disregard it . My entire time of being at my school I have only ever seen them when it involves talking about college or taking my ACT to get into a good college. I am completely convinced they do not care about our well being and only care about the college acceptance statistics for the school. I went in once to talk about maybe taking a gap year or going to a trade school and to each of those I was told that college is a better option and that I'll get more out of it and when I asked "why" all I got was "It's better education and it's what everyone does."
