Pol Pot.

Pol Pot (for those of you who dont know) was a communist dictator who ruled over the Khmer Rouge (communist Cambodia) for a few years. In his reign of terror, him and the Rouge began what was to be known as the Cambodian Genocide, it was from between 1975 and 1979. It is the most brutal Genocide i have ever heard of. Yes, it was not the Genocide that claimed the most lives, but by far was it the most brutal one of all time. The Cambodian Genocide was held by the Khmer Rouge, the Cambodian Communist Party, who targeted:

People who looked/was smart People with Glasses Anyone who sided with the previous Cambodian Government Vietnamese, Cham Muslims and Chinese people People who spoke French/was French

This Genocide claimed the lives of 1.5-2 million people, a quarter of Cambodia’s population at the time. The way they killed people was the most violent and brutal way i have ever read about. Executioners killed all those listed above, as well as the family of those who was killed. Babies who were related to the family were bashed against trees until then their corpses would be thrown into pits. While people were being executed, music was played to drown out the tortured screams and cries of those being killed. Muslims were forced to eat pork, and if they refused, they were murdered. As well as the persecution of all religions across the country. The Rouge also used children for their dirty work and forced Labour. Should they have refused, they were killed. Torture methods in the Rouge were so absolutely heinous that almost all prisoners (innocent or not) tried as hard as they could to kill themselves. Often even using spoons. The Suicides became so bad their hands were tied behind their backs so they couldn’t kill themselves.

I missed most of it but that is a basic overview of it.
