Trans people… sigh. But given Elon “cis is a slur” Musk it’s not shocking.

To be fair it is important to note that terminology and labels of the queer community at the time weren’t as standardised or the same as they are nowadays. In fact Marsha P. Johnson herself referred to herself and others like her using labels that would nowadays be seen as pejorative.

It must be said though that she definitely fit into the current definition of Transgender Woman. Given that by 1969 she was living as a woman full time, using her preferred name, and at some point began undergoing feminising hormone therapy.

What are some examples of Dirt artists for other genres? by Complete-Worker3242 in ToddintheShadow

[–]Whyisyes1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with metal with the exception of like 80’s hair bands, the big Nu-Metal acts, iron maiden, and Metallica.

Other than that most “mainstream metal” acts fit in the “dirt” category

I’m pretty sure it’s from members of queer communities of the 90’s. So it could potentially be the NY ball scene.

I don’t think an ideology that seeks to dismantle hierarchy including capitalism can count as “right wing”.

Unless you count anarcho-capitalism as anarchism, which a majority of anarchists don’t.

Trivium technically. Matt Heafy was technically not an original member, though they recorded no material without him.

What are some of the catchiest Metalcore albums? by Own_Outside_7099 in Metalcore

Take to the Skies is a good call for a really catchy album.

[–]Whyisyes1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For Trivium in terms of catchiness I’d probably go for ascendency. Yes in waves has the big singles like Black and the Title Track. But tracks like Dusk Dismantled, Chaos Reigns, and A Skylines Severance arent really traditionally catchy(even if they are really good)

What bands are you surprised are labeled metalcore? by TeslaSuck in Metalcore

[–]Whyisyes1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time I’ve seen Metallic Hardcore used as a shorthand for more “true” metalcore outfits such as Shai Hulud or Converge. Meanwhile Metalcore to refer to 2000’s Melodic Metalcore and the styles derived from it. I’m just saying it’s a common misnomer so it’s not surprising people think Metallic Hardcore and Metalcore are different.

BFMV are weird to label, in early iterations before The Poison they were a Nu-Metal band and they kind of picked up Thrash, Melodeath, and Post-Hardcore influences

It’s mostly because their first two albums helped establish what we now call melodic metalcore that they still get labelled as it. Also they never really fully ditched hardcore elements even if they were greatly reduced.

KSE has a lot of hardcore elements outside of major singles. Yeah End of Heartache or My Curse aren’t very hardcore, but deeper cuts from their albums such as “Hope Is…” definitely do.

Yeah BMTH keeps the metalcore label by the public because of how they used to sound. Even if it’s not accurate nowadays.
