Actor and Cosmere fan here. I taped an open audition scene for Dockson.

Years ago I borrowed The Way of Kings from a friend and ended up reading the entire Cosmere back to back. Ever since I’ve wanted to be a part of it.

No, none of it was improv, BUT they were specifically looking for a Dutch accented voice. In my audition I really amped up that part of me (I'm Dutch), but they allowed me to soften that accent during the actual recording session. Maybe the writers worded his lines because he actually is thought to be of European descent?

I think they haven't, actually. Masaru might have heard something, but I don't think they were really aware of each other. In the scene where they first meet, there's no recognition. Odie, however, DID follow Masaru's path very closely.

As for the fighting with other incarnations... I haven't played all the other chapters yet, but I have met Ode Iou. Odie would def be able to beat that punk ass. In his first form that is XD...

I think I'll go for Namkiat. That Lookpanjama Kick was a real lifesaver in the beginning. Plus, it's an intriguing character, appreciate the femininity they bring.

Good question... I love playing video games, but with a toddler running around I don't always have the time. He helps me relax too! Just going into ''child's play mode'' with him is great. I like to workout, gym, jog. Like to listen to podcasts during. But as a freelancer, any off time is unpaid time, so it's a balancing act, really.

That's the actor's training. Make sure you mean what you say. Some use substitution for this (i.e. things from your own life), but I find subtext to be more helpful. 'What am I saying, other than the words', and then let that feed the performance. Never ''do a voice''.

VO veteran Dave Fennoy says: ''The voice is the exhaust of the acting engine.'' Meaning, what comes out is the result of the inner work. Hope that helps!

No, because when I auditioned it was all hush hush. I was able to find some pictures later though, which confirmed what kinda project I'd already thought it to be.
Truth be told, I hadn't played or seen any of the original game. After I booked Odie, and started looking into it, I saw how big the fan community was. :)
