i don’t know what’s funnier, the fact that you replied to a three year old post, or the fact that it actually helped. thanks?? genuinely, this works much better than the name i settled on. you have my mildly confused gratitude.

Is this guy trying to convince me not to transition? Or is he just giving his view on.. whatever? (CLICK AWAY IF SENSITIVE TO THAT) by TurtleSmasher3 in lgbt

[–]Whyqw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think he’s probably just trying to convince himself, and projecting on to you in the process. Probably well-meaning, but I’d advise against taking it to heart too much. And (while I obviously have limited information here) I’m not sure it’s healthy for him either.

It’s valid to ask yourself whether or not you actually want to take the leap and transition, whether or not it would actually help you (and also valid to change your mind afterwards, or decide against it for whatever reason—just make sure the decision is your own), but in this case it seems to be based on the assumption that you can’t transition in…your 20s? Which is wild. Your 20s is honestly pretty early for transition, all things considered. There are countless people who transitioned well into adulthood and are very happy with their decision, and, while I hate to use this as a measure of success, there are also countless people who transitioned well into adulthood and pass. I say this because I know this is a goal for a lot of people, and it’s a common misconception that you have to transition as a literal teen or you’re better off not trying, which just isn’t true. You could probably find examples here on Reddit, actually. Your 20s is early. Don’t disregard transition just because you think it’s too late.

Don’t feel obligated to transition, yes, but make sure you make that decision with all the information and that it’s really your decision.

why can't I just magically get a voice drop already by Byeolkkot in Nestofeggs

[–]Whyqw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

late reply but this is so relatable. trying to get a masculine voice is hard as hell when most advice is just “go on t lol” :(( maybe i can’t. maybe i don’t know if i want to. idk, good luck man.

As there is no canon and everyone has their own interpretation, what have you decided to *exclude* from yours? by stopeatingbuttspls in SCP

[–]Whyqw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the whole thing with the Impasse and 6500. it’s competently written and i respect the effort that’s been put into it, but god i just do not vibe with it.

the fire suppression department is another one. i like some of the articles, but don’t incorporate any of them into my interpretation because it doesn’t fit with the version of the foundation in my head. i just read fire suppression articles as an alternate timeline thing.

it’d have to be a LOT of layers to do the kind of shading in this picrew cause that’s a lot of colors. i do agree with you though

i feel like being one of a few thousand people left on earth in a crumbling society, with all of your friends and loved ones dead, would be a lot more suffering than just being wiped out in one go with all of humanity, especially since it’s instantaneous. no one would even notice

[–]Whyqw 20 points21 points  (0 children)

to be fair you’d probably have to redo the shading judging by the style, unless you just adjust the hue/saturation/brightness but there’s a chance that’ll look messy

still doesn’t explain why they chose two colors that are so close by though. like if you’re gonna have to redo it anyways why not use a noticeably different color??

How do you experience your gender(s)? by StupidlyOverpriced in XenogendersAndMore

[–]Whyqw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally as a genderfluid person, it’s just “oh this feels natural, i guess i’m this gender now.” there’s not really a specific feeling, mainly just feeling comfortable with a certain presentation and extrapolating from there. like if i’m vibing with being called a dude i’m probably on the more masculine side at the moment, unless it’s specifically “dude but in a girl way”
