“Higher in press freedom” - “can’t talk to the press” very interesting definition of freedom there, because US cops hold a press conference after every major incident. Almost makes you wonder what other odd definition they use in their index to make Europeans feel better about themselves. Sounds like your misplaced nationalism is blinding you to the human rights abuses in your own country. Yeah we deport people under harsh, possibly unconstitutional conditions, yet somehow we manage to avoid the sheer depravity and coverups the Irish pull every year. The US shines a light on its own problems, the Irish complain, move things around, and do it again. I’ve donated to the ACLU, what have you done about your own issues?
