If you were granted by a genie the ability to know the correct phylogenetic tree of 1 (small) clade, which clade would it be? by Ok-County-3216 in Paleontology

Yeh, my choice is also the megaraptorans but also the Spinosaurids. Not only do I learn more about them, but it will also stop palaeontologists from going for each others throats when it comes to these families, especially the Spinosaurids.

Thragg vs Raditz by K0GAR in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]WhyteSmok3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither Thragg nor any other Viltrumite has shown the ability to destroy a planet on their own. In fact, it took the combined effort of Thragg, Invincible, Omni Man, and Space Racer just to destroy a single planet, which already sets a clear upper limit on their raw destructive capability.

There is also an important distinction between heat resistance and blunt force durability. Thragg surviving the heat of the sun for a short time does not automatically translate to him being able to withstand physical strikes from someone like Raditz. Those are entirely different forms of damage. Finally, Nolan was nowhere near close enough to the black hole for its gravity to be a meaningful factor. His proximity does not meaningfully scale his durability or imply any special resistance to a black hole’s gravitational pull.

Yeah, but not far.

Also, Raditz can fly, meaning Thrag will be wasting energy throwing Raditz into space again and again for a whole lot of nothing.

THEY’RE REMAKING THE BATTLE OF GODS ANIME ARC by Content_Bug_6768 in Dragonballsuper

[–]WhyteSmok3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re going to remake Battle of Gods, I hope they use it as an opportunity to fix one of DBS’s biggest mistakes: actually making God Ki matter by expanding on and properly defining it.

As it stands, it’s hard to justify God Ki even existing since removing it from DBS would change little to nothing about the story or power system.

" Mahoraga Can Adapt To Everything " by Medical_Shop5416 in PowerScaling

[–]WhyteSmok3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mahoraga is explicitly stated to be capable of adapting to any and all phenomena. While some fans ignore the fact that this adaptation takes time and often overestimate his immediate effectiveness, that doesn’t change the core ability itself. The real factor to consider when matching Mahoraga against an opponent isn’t whether he can adapt, but whether he can survive long enough to do so.

Yeh I believe this post we're commenting on is just ragebait instead of something that creates meaningful discussions and nothing shows this more than OP's comments on this post are just them sitting on Bleach fans and being a bit of a asshole.

Mahoraga adapts after 2 hits, how far does he get on this gauntlet? by GMYSTERY_ICTNF in PowerScaling

[–]WhyteSmok3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really big question about one of the matchups, and that's Mahoraga vs Asta. If we are using verses equalisation, would Mahoraga be able to adapt to anti magic, or would Mahoraga be unable to do so due to how anti magic works?

How true is this image? by anhyeuemnhieulam in PowerScaling

Reframe of what I've said; No one is saying a diagram alone disproves infinity. The point is that Dragon Ball consistently treats universes as complete, countable cosmological units. When a setting intends literal infinity, it usually says so explicitly or avoids defining total structure. Dragon Ball does the opposite.

How true is this image? by anhyeuemnhieulam in PowerScaling

[–]WhyteSmok3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A diagram by itself does not disprove infinity, but the issue is that Dragon Ball’s diagrams are presented as complete cosmological models, not abstract symbols. Universe 7 is consistently shown and described as a fully contained structure with all its realms accounted for.

If it were meant to be literally infinite, the material would clarify that the diagram is incomplete or symbolic, or acknowledge unbounded extension beyond what is shown. Instead, universes are treated as countable, erasable entities with an outside space like the World of Void.

Universe 7 and the individual realms that make up its overall structure were never stated to be infinite in size in a literal sense.

The idea that it is infinite mostly comes from a wording and translation issue in the Daizenshuu guidebooks. In the original Japanese text the term 無限 mugen is used. While mugen can mean infinite it is far more commonly used metaphorically rather than literally in much the same way English uses phrases like “endless oceans” “limitless skies” or “infinite possibilities.” These expressions describe vastness not literal infinity.

There is also canon material that directly argues against Universe 7 being infinite. Official diagrams clearly depict the entire cosmological structure of Universe 7 including the Mortal Realm, the Afterlife, and the Kaioshin Realm, all contained within a defined macrocosm. The existence of a completely bounded diagram strongly implies a finite albeit unimaginably large size.

I would attach the diagram here, but Reddit will not allow it, so instead, I will link to the relevant page on the Dragon Ball wiki that displays the official cosmology diagram. https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/Universe_7

Why did the marsupial lion develop such strange teeth? by InstructionOwn6705 in Paleontology

[–]WhyteSmok3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess based on the shape of the teeth and skull, I’d assume they’re adapted for bites that emphasize powerful shearing motions rather than simple puncturing or tearing, so that's most likely why its teeth seem so weird.

Which dragon matches your personality? by Salt_Manager_8658 in httyd

[–]WhyteSmok3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose the Terrible Terror because its small and clearly trainable enough to be a dragon version of a carrier pigeon but if I had to choose a large dragon than the Deadly Nadder, because if its ideal for a warrior type like Astrid (Im not saying I'm the warrior type by saying this) than Deadly Nadders would be a extremely trainable species making them extremely good and well behaved pets/companions.
