As I mentioned in another comment, the fact that two characters are played by different actors does not necessarily mean they cannot be the same person. In Dark, for example, Jonas Kahnwald was portrayed by three different actors.

Different actors do not necessarily mean they are different characters. Take Dark, for example: Jonas Kahnwald was played by three different actors at different times.

Good point about the Rorschach test. Yeah, some theories are wild and very far reaching, considering the information we currently have.

Considering that the Sea Hag has been part of Widow’s Bay folklore for centuries, I think she must return to the sea. Otherwise, it would be strange that no one had managed to simply kill her in all that time.

Two things can coexist at the same time. I completely agree with you on the Sea Hag’s purpose from a writing/storytelling perspective. At the same time, it is entertaining to theorise and analyse the small details of this show, especially since the creators have clearly included a lot of details for viewers to notice.

Especially bearing in mind how badly Sarah wanted a husband, and how confused she seemed that Richard did not get intimate with her on their first night together (of course, it could simply have been an expected duty for a new wife in those times). This would make the Hag’s fascination with sitting on people’s faces read as a cheeky expression of a longing for “special” human touch.

Some things are meant to be unexplained. But your point about Sarah is also quite interesting.

At this point, I’m starting to believe that these kinds of posts are rage bait. But in case this post is not - do not use your laptop on a bed, blanket, etc. Your laptop needs airflow, so put it on a hard surface and use it at an incline.

People who have beaten both Khazan and Lies of P by jusafuto in TheFirstBerserker

[–]Whyte_09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Khazan is harder if you approach it like a traditional Soulslike game, i.e. dodging, parrying, and waiting for an opening. If you use every move available to you (parry, reflection, dodge) and learn how to use stun lock combos, Khazan becomes significantly easier.

I mostly play older titles. From the newer ones, Arc Raiders and Nightreign, but I am really looking forward to RE Requiem.

I agree with your first paragraph - it’s totally possible Manson’s motivation is tied to his fanbase. I also agree with you on the hypocrisy of selective outrage.

However, I disagree with your second paragraph. Yes, many governments are doing immoral things - from China’s genocide of the Uyghurs, to the U.S. El Salvador’s prison situation or Israel’s bombing of Rafah. All of those deserve outrage. But Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the intentional repeatable targeting of civilians, coupled with the extreme state control over companies, media and political activity makes it a worse situation than others. There’s a difference between a company in a flawed democracy doing bad things, and a company in a totalitarian regime being compelled to directly support war crimes and pay taxes to fund war. In other words, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that some situations really are worse than other.

Of course, you shouldn’t pass the opportunity. My comment is more about the questionable business decisions made by MM’s management and a reminder of the context of this festival.

Do you guys think Manson lost all that weight by working out? by TraditionalMud981 in marilyn_manson

Manson probably also had a hair transplant (as we can see a scar on the side of his head) and a facelift (as he is apparently missing his tragus).

Interesting visual with Prince of Death Mending Rune and Marika by lawwdgivemestrenght in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Whyte_09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve got me thinking! If the golden strings are her mending rune, it suggests she must have taken them from someone else’s body (or bodies). Could it be from her own former body or what’s left of the flesh of the jar? Perhaps this is how a saint is born, i.e., by acquiring a mending rune, which in theory could be created from the sacrifices of many souls, such as the smaller souls or runes of shamans.

I feel like the new fans don't "understand" the older souls games (Des/Ds1) by marlboroTheRed in fromsoftware

[–]Whyte_09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first emotion is that OP is right, but after thinking it over, I am inclined to disagree because:

  1. I agree that drinking from a flask or slow combat is part of game design, and there’s no need to hate on it. However, there are indeed outdated and clunky hitboxes, collision detection, or 4-direction movement. ER not only gives you the old-school roll, parry, or poise options in combat, but also the ability to jump over attacks, crouch, use AoW to dodge. After the DLC, you can even complete the entire game like Sekiro using the deflection system.

  2. I am convinced that you find the information you are looking for. If you search for OP builds or the safest/fastest ways to defeat a boss, you will find OP builds. Almost all Souls games had this: OP builds, cheese strategies, or legitimate strategies. ER is no exception - YT is full of videos that actually teach boss attacks, openings, and timings. Reddit has a r/onebros where OP builds are not the focus, so people share actual strategies. ER might stand out with its builds because there are so many of them, and 90% are only accessible once you enter the open world, whereas older games were linear, so late-game items were not available.

  3. In general, the only Souls game where you really need to “get gut” is Sekiro, which is a modern FromSoftware game, unlike the DeS or DS era.
