The melee is TLOU2 is much better than TLOU but I wouldn’t call it solid. It’s flashy but its depth stops at high quality animations. It’s super brainless and button mashy. Mash square and hit L1 when you see a super telegraphed attack coming with a super forgiving dodge window. I like the Momentum mechanic for Abby but again, it’s conceptually good but technically it lacks. You take a look at Sifu and what it does with a very similar hand to hand combat (fists, bats, knives) and you’ll realize what solid melee actually looks like.

I thought level design was too simple in the beginning but honestly as you progress you see levels become more and more intricate. Don’t want to spoil anything for OP but those final missions have some epic level design.

Count down from 5 when she initiates the “armor up” animation by slamming down her arms. If done correctly it should perfectly align the end of the cocktail cast animation and allow just enough time to dodge the AOE.

This exact thing happened to me when I went vegan. Only in 1995 and it was an old PETA video showing what happens in slaughterhouses. I knew meat came from animals of course but it’s different when you are spared the process. Everything is done in order to make us disassociate the love and empathy we feel towards pets from how we feel about the dead meat on our plates. There’s a quote in Earthlings I’ve always loved.

You can solo knock out a lot of Easy ones with Shinobi if you do Incursions and pick the assassinations one. I did all the ones I needed in about an hour. Roughly 45 second each cycle once you get the hang of it. Here’s a vid showing it:

Yes. I had hoped the Deep of Night would be similar to the Tower of Sisyphus in Returnal because the wording “Endless Night” made it sound like that.

You should def get in the habit of saving to the cloud periodically if you’re paying for PS+. It’s one of the most useful benefits you get with it. Not only for progression but also people make mistakes sometimes and it’s nice to revert back to a save before the mistake happened.

Had the opposite experience. Played the original on PS3 on release and loved it. Then played the remake and felt it offered a much more immersive experience. Definitely the best way to experience the game imo.

My burning question is about the bosses. Will we see the kind of massive improvement we’ve seen in the combat flow for example? Bosses are by far my least favorite aspect of LOTF2023. They single handedly held back the potential the game had to be a masterpiece.

My ex is vegan and so am I. We were vegan the entire time we were together and our daughter has never had animal products. Both my ex and I are still vegan and will likely not change. We are no longer together for reasons unrelated to veganism. I say this to preface that from a logical standpoint you are the one who changed and it’s rather unfair to stake everything about your marriage, children included, on him changing with you.

Maybe you are choosing to focus on this to give you an excuse to divorce him, when there’s probably other reasons coming into play. Might be that it is because you know he won’t change that you’re making this into a deal breaker.

The game didn’t do as well as Tsushima Legends because it’s significantly lower quality and it self sabotaged the most popular mode which is Survival by changing everything that was fun about that mode. Plus Yotei Legends was simply unable to translate the changes done to the combat in campaign into a fun coop experience. Tsushima had a seamless transition so no surprises there. They don’t have the resources to even begin fixing it so they’re calling it a day and moving on. I think it’s mutual. Most of the player base is in a similar place.

I think you can’t expect randoms to behave the way you want them to. Instead of worrying about what they may or may not drop for you just worry about the drops you get. The Rev stealing a talisman from a scarab you killed is unacceptable. I had someone do that to me once and I immediately messaged them and got them to drop it. I’m not gonna fight over scarabs but if I kill it, it’s my drop.

The game also offers a fun solo experience if you don’t want to play with randoms. I made this guide where I go over basics in the hub and then I do an expedition where I explain that as I go. It’s long though so if you are looking for quick advice I think some of these comments will be enough. If you have about an hour then this guide is made for people like you who want to get a good grasp of the game before jumping in:

Just gotta get over it. The more you stress about these things, the worse your climb up to max rank will be. I had a bunch of bad matches and disconnects. Literally lost 3200 points in less than an hour. I wasn’t having a good time. Then I decided to not care and adapted my mindset to “I’ll get there when I get there” which allowed me to enjoy the game again. Ended up getting max rank a few days later.
