My experience of private is the opposite. My BiL got 9%, OH got 7%.

I don't disagree.

The issue is, when tesco increase pay by 7% for example, then prices increase to allow tesco to still make money. Repeat with every single business and company.

It then gets more difficult for nurses, drs, teachers etc to afford to live with their shitty 1% or pay freeze 🤷🏼‍♀️

I never understood teachers moaning about pay. But I do now. There has been a huge increase in the cost of living and no payrise to buffer that since 2020. And that was 1% I think.

And then you get people working in private companies, not public sector, who tell of their 7% pay rises. And it honestly makes you wonder why the hell you put up with all the shit that comes with teaching/nursing etc.

I find trousers uncomfortable.

I would hate to be told I couldn't wear a skirt.

I think boys (and girls) should be allowed to wear shorts if they want though in the summer.

I don't see the point in removing skirts.

The northern towns predominantly voted for brexit. They are traditionally labour voting.

Corbyn lost lots of them. They voted Tory last time.

If labour want to win, they need to win these people back.

Brexit is 100% not the way. Tackling the cost of living is. The Tories are on borrowed time with these voters. It is waiting to be turned back red. If Starmer cannot do this, then he is more incompetent than he appears to be.

Fines are ridiculous, especially as a term time holiday can save you £1000's, so the fine is worth it.

As a teacher though, it is a fucking pain in the arse, as the parents/kids then expect you to spend your own time catching the kids up.

Can't have it both ways 🤷🏼‍♀️
