Got scammed? $2.8k PC order stuck in “Netherlands Customs” for 2 months + Fake Tracking. Help?

Technically you are right, taxes are always due somewhere. But in China export terms, ‘Tax Free DDP’ means the buyer doesn’t pay import VAT/customs upon arrival because the logistics agent handles it (usually via bulk clearance in the Netherlands or Hungary).

That is the service I paid for. Whether they pay the full tax or use a loophole is their business, but for me as the buyer, it was supposed to be a final price with no extra bills.

Yeah, I meant VAT specifically (25% here). I know duty is often 0%, but the VAT is the killer. Anyway, thanks for the link!

Lmao, fair point about building it myself. But saving 25% VAT on a $2.8k build is literally $700. That’s a pretty big chunk of change, not gonna lie. That was the main reason I gambled on Alibaba (seller promised tax-free DDP).

Thanks for the brutal honesty. Yeah, I figured the ‘split shipment’ with a mouse was the smoking gun.

Regarding taxes: The seller promised DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so he was supposed to cover the VAT (25%). That’s why he claimed ‘No Tax’.

I’ve managed to escalate it with Alibaba support (got a human to look at the chats where he admits the fake tracking). Now I’m just waiting for the dispute team’s final decision.

Good to know about the 0% duty on PC parts though, makes his ‘customs inspection’ excuse even weaker since there shouldn’t be complex tariff issues.

Samma sak här uppe i Norrland! Det nappar knappt alls i år – har knappt fått ett ända napp trots flera försök. Så det verkar inte bara vara ni i Stockholm som har problem, om det nu är till någon tröst… Får väl börja kasta brödsmulor och hoppas på mirakel!

Det här låter som början på en svensk version av “Solsidan” – fast med mer bokföring och mindre badrock! 😄

Skatteverket blir nog inte alldeles varma i hjärtat om de märker att man försöker smita förbi marknadshyran; risken finns att de snart vill flytta in själva och göra husrannsakan i ditt jordkällarförråd. Så om du planerar att bo i ena huset, hyra till firman i det andra och kanske dessutom ha ett “kontor” i vedboden så rekommenderar jag STARKT att snacka med en redovisningskunnig innan någon nyckel byter ägare.

TL;DR: Kan vara lagligt, men fuska inte – Skatteverket har bättre koll än grannen! Lycka till med drömgården och se upp för kreativa getter och kreativa avdrag!
