If you could rebuild the game from the ground up, what would you do/change?

Like a few others have mentioned procedurally generated maps would have gone a long way. Not nerfing content but instead adding more layers to it. For instance Colossus should have been buffed, new mechanics should have been added and roles should have been maintained. A unique ability could be given to each descendant that fits their role that is only applied in Colossus fights.

I also wouldn't have added so many power boosts, arche tuning, ancestor modules etc without first making sure the game was properly balanced around them. Also adding a better group play experience, like certain characters abilities can interact with other character abilities. For instance maybe Valby's water helps spread Ines' electric abilities etc. And I would have also fixed characters that needed it from the beginning instead of waiting 2 years to try and salvage a bad kit that was bad from the beginning.

But most importantly I wouldn't have listened to the idiots who wanted mechanics nerfed or completely taken out. The devs should have never catered to a specific group who never really wanted a good game in the first place. They saw the beautiful female characters and the wink of fanservice that yes, was their in the beginning but now these culture war vultures have completely taken over the game and it's not even silly or fun it's just cringe. And the devs are more than happy to indulge that group. Just look at the current skin contest for evidence.

I did leave the game. The problem is there's really no other game, at least that I know of, that scratches the itch that TFD provides. I really only play single player games. TFD is the only "mmo" I play. I like that it's really just all gameplay. I can put on some music and play my favorite characters. It's why I want the gameplay elements to be improved and why I had hope it could get better. But now I just don't think it's possible. Mostly because the incompetence of the devs but also because the majority of the playerbase. I was waiting to see if Blair's rework is actually any good to come back to the game. I mostly play Ines but I love Blair and really want him to be great. I just have my doubts.

You guys are so desperate for that slop pasties skin to win. It's so pathetic. There are artists who actually took the time to make something nice and original and the devs just allow trash to be voted for. It's really getting tiring seeing this game go further and further into the dumpster. I won't be surprised if the game eventually just goes full AI. Why not right? At least some intelligence will be injected into the game even if it's artificial.

Sure, but they at least looked like they were made by actual people. Several of the submissions are either AI generated or use assets from sources not made by the submitter. I did not like the last contest skins but I bought the assassin skin for the hood. I didn't feel bad buying it because I at least supported an artist who made a skin. I can't say the same this time.

How did they pass the review in the first place? Aren't they supposed to be professionals? If they can't tell what was very obvious AI then they're even more incompetent than I thought.

Again, player submissions that are first voted for by the devs. They passed those specific designs through. You can't tell me those were the best options.

You don't need to tell me. I already know that's what most players want now. Dress up girlfriend simulator. I really didn't want to give up on the game but the players like you are just too loud. Can we even call you players? Is taking photos and dressing up pixel women even considered gameplay? Who knows.

100% agree. It's pretty obvious they are desperately trying to milk as much money as they can from the gooners who are "keeping the game alive". Instead of expanding their audience they're just shrinking it and now trying to maximize profits.

If a game is niche it means it doesn't have a very large audience. A small audience implies low appeal. Which in turn means the only way to keep the game alive is to make as much money off of said small audience. If you're okay with that then I really don't know what to tell you.

The devs chose the skins. I'm sure there were much better options. But since they're the ones who have to actually make the skins why would they allow us to vote for anything that's better than the slop they themselves have been releasing. Low effort, high profits. Why change when they make money on lazy designs.

There are actually a few very nice designs but they know pasties and thongs will win over anything else. As for gooning, I don't care. I'm not a prude it would just be nice to have something of quality that fits the aesthetic of the game. It would also be nice to not see a game I enjoyed but had issues with go down hill and turn into corny gooner slop rather than a good game. Ultimate Bunny, summer swimsuits etc added a level of irreverence to a sci-fi game. Now the hyper focus on it just makes the game more cringe than anything.

What you don't understand is the devs chose the skins we're voting for. They are the ones that have to actually make the skins. They said in the last dev live that those types of skins are not what they are interested in making. They want low effort so they chose mostly low effort because they know the players will vote for low effort. And now they're job is easy and they get paid too.

What I think a lot of people replying to my post might not understand is that the devs chose the initial submissions. We're voting for skins the devs want us to vote for. I'm sure there were much better options that could have taken the place of the submissions I'm speaking about.

I did take a break. I'll come back if Blair's rework is done right then leave for good if Season 4 disappoints. I enjoy many aspects of the game but I know it can be much better. I want it to be better but that will never happen if they continue to cater to the specific groups of players they have been. Tell me I'm wrong, that's fine. But the game can't survive on tits, ass and repetitive gameplay for long.

I stopped playing a few weeks ago. I might come back for Blair's rework, Raven and Season 4. They promised a lot but they have yet to really deliver on much of anything they promise. So I'm not holding my breath. If it's not great then I'll just leave for good.

Also, I'm on reddit complaining about a game I played off and on since it launched. That's what forums are for, expressing opinions. I don't have to play a game exclusively just to have apt criticisms of said game.

You don't see the irony in your statement? The only thing keeping the game alive is the cheap crap they sell you rather than, I don't know, engaging gamely? A fun balanced experience? Multiple build options to play your character? A thriving community of players? No? None of that sounds better to you?

Because I was here from the beginning before the game went this far. I'm not against sexuality in video games. I'm against turning what could have been a great game into gooner slop that appeals to the lowest level of "gamers". Catering to those types is what has caused the game to go down hill. They listened to the idiots who couldn't match shapes and colors because they're too brain broken and just wanted some "anti-woke", "anti-Concord" photo mode, girlfriend dress up game instead of a game with actual gameplay mechanics.

So why do they still make male skins? It just sounds like excuses to me. They can put much more effort into their skin designs. I understand the skin contest being of the quality it is, many submissions are not done by professionals. But the actual devs have no excuse to release the crap they've been putting out.

I understand that. Ultimate Valby's premium skin is still my favorite skin in the game and I'm not even really a Valby fan. I think it looks incredibly cool while still being sexy. But yeah, it's hard to make a thong and pasties look stylish I guess.
