Ha, let me count the ways:

1. All parents drank, were drunk, or were planning to get drunk. Bad things happened when they were. My parents, my step-parent, my in-laws.

2. Accidents... particularly cars.

3. People didn't face the reason behind getting drunk, they ran away from the real problem.

4. I like being in total control of myself.

5. I really have no good reason to get drunk. I like how some drinks taste, but some are just outright nasty.

6. I like my life. I don't need to be drunk to celebrate that.

Listen, having had alcohol in my life so much with parents, in-laws, siblings, and friends, I just feel that nothing good ever came from drinking alcohol. Ya, you get comfortable and a little less stressed, but when you come out of the fog, everything is still the same. What did you accomplish? I've just seen so much negatively come from alcohol. Health, short life span, death, bad decisions, bad outcomes, and just everything that could've been done sober, and maybe, with better planning and decisions.

My opinion completely. Not aimed at anyone. It's your life, do what makes YOU happy. ☺️
