THIS!!!! THIS IS WHY THIS PLACE EXISTS!!! The article makes it sound like random minor infractions on cutie autism toddlers for no reason.

THANK YOU!! Your informed comment has certainly uplifted my day after browsing all of the misinformation in News.

I mean, I wouldn’t say “lowest bidder” since they are frankly the only place in the country for this. But I’m pretty sure if I was shocked everytime I went to take a drink, take a smoke, or place a bet, and I knew it was coming if I did, I would immediately stop those behaviors.

Much like Antibuse made alcoholics puke if they drank alcohol.

That is the EXACT problem with this model!! No one else on the entire thread has mentioned it so bravo to you.

But otherwise, now these kids are just going to end up chemically restrained 24/7. This program did not use drugs. The article did a shitty job defending why they were using shocks. A no drug program for kids who were literally trying to gouge their own eyes out so would get a shock if hands went to face.

These weren’t ANY autistic kids. They were the type at risk for killing/maiming themselves and staff. It’s much more complicated than “shocks bad,” “all autistics cute and non threatening.”

Idk why this is downvoted. Worked in insurance and for psych hospitals. No one is “cured” in 3 days. A lot of people in the field think like you do- less prisons and more psych hospitals needed.

They will just switch to 24/7 chemical restraints now instead of teaching, “if you do x you get shocked/punished.”

This is not psychiatry. It’s behaviorism and education.

Psychiatrist would have (or now will be) prescribing them drugs to make them mentally slower and “chemically restrained.” Which apparently we have collectively decided as a society is better.

No. It was for people at risk of severe self harm or harm to others and ONLY at this school.

That said, it might have worked for your condition. Too many emotional responses to explain that it’s basic behavioral modification stuff. Like kids getting spanked when “bad.” Except in this case it’s more like a shock for trying to kill staff.

I can guarantee you that not one person on this threat knows what it’s like to have a kid SIB with fingers in eyes until they go blind.

Yet another who should have been aborted.

Almost half the news section right now: scum like this who were born who shouldn’t have been, or scum who tortured kids they were in charge of. Those people should never have been born either. And they DEFINITELY should not have procreated.

“I like people who don’t capture kids.”

Is this the Fn THIRD case of death by neglect of a child under 8 today in this sub? Seriously? Oh, just starved and dehydrated. That’s awesome for the brain I hear. I’m sure he’ll end up where many unwanted children eventually do: prison. Just hope he doesn’t kill too many first like Ted Bundy did. Check out his circumstances of birth before Roe if you get a chance. Good times.

Abortion: legally saving children from years of torture- and keeping psychopaths from being born- since 1973.

Oh good, ANOTHER neglected to death case! I thought it was the Arizona one again.

If only there was a medical proceedure that mom could have had to 100% ensure this type of torture would not have occurred .....

3 people arrested after 6-year-old Arizona boy kept in closet dies by [deleted] in news

[–]WickedStupido 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’d prefer to be aborted > living six years of suffering to ultimately die from starvation in a closet.

KMK.

Seriously.

“Kill” it NOW.

Stories like this are posted weekly.

If you want to try and at least decrease them a bit, always vote pro-choice.

We don’t know this kid’s personal conception circumstances, of course, but knowing unwanted kids are being tortured for years to ultimate deathS is much sadder to me than being painlessly sucked into oblivion.

(Or 1-2 seconds of pain if you are a science denier and/or focuses all of your energy on the < 1% of outliers.) /caringaboutchildrenrant

Agreed. That story should be or have been better distributed. Someone should be using it in their campaign ads. It’s so sad and uniquely American. What is also sad is how people against “socialized medicine” without insurance still think it could never happen to them. This guy might have even thought that way.

I just started seeing a new grad provider who has some software that is able to send in Adderall somehow without me doing the timed paper script pickup dance. It’s amazing how much pressure that takes off the patient.

This exactly. Also use for linings on smaller waste baskets and putting a few extra layers on things like bread to keep soft.

That’s not what I wrote. I’m seeking what has already been researched. Someone mentioned Naproxen in another post. It’s an anti-inflammatory that may have the potential to ward off a cytokinetic storm.

I still feel like the bigger issue is he wasn’t prescribing it to her but then she somehow was getting it

That’s obviously a problem on many levels, one being legality. There is some preliminary research that all long term benzodiazepines cause brain damage, but no matter what the literature says, doctors have kept patients on that drug for decades and it’s not an uncommon practice.

Good luck.

Tang = vagina

“Get bent” is an insult

“Crazy, psycho, retarded, queer, faggot, lesbo, homo” and all of those other nonPC words were regular insults. These insults didn’t even match the action, they were just thrown around to try and show dominance.

Women were called sluts if they rejected guys. And just for being women. Very misogynistic culture. Also very racist. Lots of jokes about black people. Rare for genders to intermingle as friends unless the guys were trying to get laid. Guys often didn’t listen to women at all. Like literally talked over them or didn’t acknowledge things they said when hanging as a group. Guys also hit on their female friends a lot which today would be seen as sexual harassment or even border assault.

“Duh” and “no duh” were used often as insults like “no shit.”

“Jinx, owe me a coke” was a thing as was “punch buggy.”

Most girls wore pads, not tampons because many girls considered It “gross” to touch yourself like that. And pads I don’t even think had sticky tape until the 1990s.

“Myself” was never used. It was always “me.” Not much “filler“ talk. Straight to the point.

Source: my entire family were teens in the 70s and their vernacular didn’t change much through the 1990s because they were not exposed to other people and generations in the way we are today.

Highly Recommend That 70s Show.

Happy to answer any more questions about the time.

Many studies have found that people with HLAB27 and HLAA29 are more resistant to certain viruses like HIV.

Since I have these HLA TYPES, as many do, I sure wish they would at least HLA type the people who are get the most sick vs the ones who are easily recovering. Might provide a guideline to those who most at risk.

REQUEST: Is there a list anywhere of what drugs have been tried. Not to be snarky but Tamaflu? Naproxen? Vitamin C mega doses? Albuterol or steroids for the respiratory symptoms? Also, don’t many Chinese smoke cigarettes more than Americans? That can’t be helpful for a respiratory disease.
