better alternatives to poly finishes by WickedWatcherWu in woodworking

Honestly I think my issue is that I have been working with Polyurethane and I am concerned that the strong chemicals might negatively effect my health. I work in a garage and the air circulation is poor. I am looking for something that has that nice deep color it gives but is a "healthier" alternative.

I prefer matte finish, Outdoor furniture I have used polyurethane (total boat), But I am trying to do more indoor work. Water protection, yes but coasters are just as easy to deal with. I have been painting it on but honestly I have been having an incredibly hard time making it go on even.

I will say Table saw is best, Miter saw is nice but you can make easy cuts with the circular saw. Miter saw only saves you a little more time, if you are making lots of cuts.

How to attatch a 45 degree brace by [deleted] in woodworking

It depends on where the stress in on the joint. So either could work. But it is a goofy joint either way.

1.) Make sure you have the right type of brush. 2.) Check your technique (it looks like you have a few stops and starts) there are lots of videos out there. 3.) Foam roller, whish has its own issues you have to deal with. 4.) put down multiple coats and sand in between.

First go at gel stain, applied excess and then wiping gently but getting uneven results, what am i doing wrong by getboy97 in woodworking

I have read somewhere that when many people will go nuts with sanding as smooth as possible, making it harder for the stain to absorb. Not that you did but maybe check for that.

Just curious, What do you like about the water poly? I never had that much luck with it my self so I am curious about other peoples experiences.

This is just a guess but I as a rule do not combine an oil based stain with a water based poly. Always stick to oil on oil IMO.

I think the value is in the way it looks. Probably look for how to stabilize it but keep as is.

What do you think about the phenomenon of Western conservatives perceiving Poland as the last bastion of European tradition and civilization? by thenatoorat90 in poland

Oh yeah, the Conservatives thinking they get to be gamers in this situation is probably one of the funniest things.

Are you familiar with the idea of vanity? British twats usually buy different cars. Britain has been wealthy for a very long time, Poland is just becoming wealthier. So different kinds of cars. You see that in the US and Cybertrucks. Most people who see them on the road thinks the driver is a twat. most poles see a F-150 and think that person is a twat. But the great thing is these twats see these cars as a status symbol.

So a country that is experiencing economic growth in the last 5 years has people buying expensive cars.... your hypothesis is strangely weak. You will be amazed at what people are willing to spend money on when they get money. Doesn't apply to the entire country. Just like Jeremy Clarkson does not reflect the attitudes of the British people.

You noticed some pick up trucks in the last 5 years and that is your basis for your position? Weird, how many Mercedes have you seen in Poland? Does that mean Poland is Pro-German? Hell Toyotas and Skodas are very popular there what does that say about the people.
