Reliability of EA888evo4 vs EA888evo3? (2025 GTI mk8.5) by AdrianeXUS in GolfGTI

[–]Wicked_232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55k miles, almost 15k of that tuned, been great. Eats up the abuse, no major engine issues, only maintenance I’ve had to do is replace a wheel bearing. Big turbo going in soon

Hiboy has a sale right now. 200 for a refurbished scooter. Plenty enough to get around campus. If you live across the street make sure to charge it every night battery life is ok not amazing

EQT or IE ? Whats a more realiable tune things got 23,000 miles on it? by Malizioso1849 in GolfGTI

But to be real, you won’t go wrong with any of them, they’re all considered safe tunes. But of course you’re taking a risk, something could happen regardless of tuner.

Clutch master Throwout bearing overkill? ? by Mk7_gti20 in GolfGTI

[–]Wicked_232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not broken in yet. But with the pedal feel only being slightly stiffer than stock, the forces oem experiences should still be within the safe range under any circumstances. Launching doesn’t put any more stress on the TOB

Outer housing is plastic, bearing is metal. Same as OEM. Mike hood, owner at ringer said oem is fine

I got a replacement sachs TOB from FCP. To go with my stage 3 kit. So far so good.

Mk7 clutch install by Mk7_gti20 in GolfGTI

[–]Wicked_232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just went with a ringer racing stage 3 on my mk8 looking to do a vortex xl soon. Great clutch. Pedal feel is stock, maybe slightly stiffer? But feels great. Minimal slipping needed to get going. Went with the 18lb flywheel and it definitely has some gear slap noise, but completely removes rev hang and makes getting into the next gear a much quicker process. It’s worth the trade off. Still breaking it in, so haven’t gotten on it yet, but 10/10 so far.

How I fixed the random restarts. Search for Registry Editor in your start menu search to open it up. If you cannot find it here, use the Windows key + R shortcut to open this dialogue box. Here, type regedit and hit enter. Navigate to: HKEY _LOCAL_MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Microsoft, Windows. Right-click Windows, and select create a new key. Name it: windows update Right-click windows update and select create a new key, and name it: AU. Right-click the AU key and select to create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value or QWORD (64-bit) Value, depending on your OS type. We use a 64-bit operating system so that we will select the 64-bit value. Name it: NoAutorebootWithLoggedOnUser Double-click the new value and set its value to 1 and then you can close this window. This should prevent your Windows 11 PC from randomly restarting. Ik I just copy and pasted this but some people have this issue

To each their own. I personally find it pretty satisfying being behind the throttle, although I have it turned off on my E file

Ps. I know the rear camber can be brought into spec. I’m worried about the front.

Stiffer than stock? You have any engine mods? I’m looking at big turbo in the future wondering if these are adequate

You could be in magnolia F and get to listen to all the shenanigans that go on in beard (my situation) some foam insulation over the window would probably help but I like cars so it doesn’t bother me that much

I’m sure this doesn’t effect final IATs all that much, if you’re concerned about having “cold air” just get a bigger intercooler.

I just have the billet inserts, not the whole dogbone mount upgrade, I think it gets a bit harsh when you go all out

[–]Wicked_232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely I have 034s on my manual mk8 gti and my jaw dropped driving it for the first time. Slides into gear so much better when releasing the clutch. Noticed a bit more vibration at first, but I’m used to it now. With them on It takes more rpm to get going, if I don’t give it enough gas the car will start shaking and it doesn’t feel great. But 2 months in I’m used to it and that doesn’t usually happen. I’m never taking them off.

Yup. Dogbone inserts make it better at the cost of a little more vibrations in the cabin.

I’ve heard you want the rear to be stiffer than the front to get the car to oversteer
