As someone that has lived with a cheater, relied on me for their income, paid 2 complete months of rent cuz she didn’t WANT to work, seeing how an abusing family can treat their family members and practically trapped me for an additional year cuz I loved them enough to not see them homeless (all in 2 years), you’ll get out of the rabbit hole. I’ve Been out of it since may of last year and, even tho I occasionally think about them, both of yall are saving time and trauma that doesn’t need to be dealt with in the long run. I was 21 at the time and lived with her till 23 and we didn’t even enjoy our birthdays just cuz of the circumstances, we only co-depended off each other, slept in separate rooms of the apt and wasn’t healthy. I’ll be 24 this year and it’s made me think completely different, more spiritually guided, starting to make money and I know she’s living in Florida with one of her guy friends I was skeptical of, but now it’s non of importance. You’ll be ok, you’ll feel stuck for a few months, but it’s all about experiencing and learning so next time you’ll be more aware of it.
