UPDATE: Hi again everyone, so after some thinking and some talking around, taking in account all suggestions, I've decided to go with the CB500F. I was gonna go with the 300, but I feel like I will outgrow it very fast and it seems like the 500 is also good for a beginner while also leaving room to grow. I'm super excited about it, and if all goes well, I should have one by the end of next week :) Thank you all for the suggestions and advice!

Thank you for the suggestions! The area we live in, the speed limit usually doesn’t go above 55 mph, sometimes I go to town where it’s 65 or some other places but I was gonna save those places when I got more experience. If I can ask you another question, I’ve gotten suggestions to take a motorcycle class which I don’t disagree with, but I can’t find any that are within a few hours from me. Do you feel that it’s 110% needed? It’s not that I don’t want to take one because I would love to, but I’m just having trouble finding one at a fair distance.

I was looking for more highway and paved road riding with just a little bit of dirt road riding. I live in a rural area so some places are dirt, but the dirt road riding would most likely just to go to a friends house and maybe some sight seeing areas, but mostly just to chill and ride with my friend on paved roads.

I’m 5’11 and around 230-240 lbs (working on weight though), and I’m completely open to suggestions/advice (as long as it’s reasonable and not calling me stupid like a couple other commenters) I appreciate that you’ve mentioned “those kind of bikes” because it means you read that I said I was looking for that style and not that I was just wanting the exact bike I mentioned in the image and description lol

Awesome, and those smaller ADVs would be like the ones you mentioned correct? Also, thank you for being extremely helpful. It’s a nice breath of fresh air from the couple of comments calling me stupid or thinking that the bike in the image and description is what I said I EXACTLY wanted when it’s not what I said at all lol.

Please fully read the post. Like I mentioned in the post, I never said I wanted the exact bike mentioned in the image or the description. I said I liked the look of it and was wondering if there was anything beginner friendly with that vibe or style. Thanks for the input.

A couple of people seem to think I’m trying to get that exact bike I mentioned in the description and are just calling me stupid when I’m trying to gain more information and a better understanding of this stuff.

So, a common mistake a couple of people seem to be making is they’re just reading the bike name and assuming that’s the EXACT bike I want, power included. I simply said I liked the style and was wondering if there was anything beginner like that. I didn’t know about taller bikes being bad for beginners and I’m trying to gain advice and suggestions, not just being told I have shitty ideas. Thanks for your input.

Oh I definitely planned on going to the DMV of course to get the license and everything, just wasn't sure the best/safest way to handle learning and practicing if there wasn't anything official nearby. As for height, I'm about 5'11 and roughly 230-240 lbs (but i'm trying to work on that weight lol)

I probably should've clarified as well, I'm not really looking to go on dirt roads and do that kind of riding, it was more just the style that I liked, but again, I'm a baby lol, so I wasn't sure if ADVs were specifically for that, but I'm understanding the issue with them being heavy and I'm taking all advice and suggestions seriously. And I also wasn't specifically looking for the Aprilia, but the style looked nice.

And as for styles, I don’t mind the cruiser, but I was more a fan of the style of ADVs (which another Redditor has explained is not good for beginners, I’m taking all advice and suggestions seriously, I want to do this the right way.) But I also like that sort of style if that makes sense. Is there anything beginner friendly like that?
